On my past post I had some concerns on buying a couple of 2010 GTS300 Supers.
GTS300 Fuel Pump Question?

Yesterday the wife and I drove 250 miles to the dealer to look at and discuss the GTS300 and also look a couple of 09 LX150's. Test drove the LX a fine scooter, but for my needs here in the wide open and hilly New Mexico country roads might be a bit underpowered. So we decided to pull the trigger on two 300 Supers.

I expresssed my concern about the fuel pump issue to the owner. He listened and knew about the problems. He said that of the 40-45 GTS's he has sold 2 have had that problem. He also said what you all did, "Its a gamble on what you get." "But if you get one we will take care of it the best we can."

My worry might have worked into the deal because he let me have them for $5100+TTL, no dealer fee or dealer shipping. They were marked $6600+TTL OTD. He also let me have all Vespa accessories for dealer cost and installed free.

Thanks for all of your advice.

Fingers crossed,
Andy

That's so awesome and when do we get to see pics of the beauties? I worked out in NM for a while on the Navajo Reservations so i know about the hilly terrain. While you could probably do it on an LX a 300 would be better for you. Congrats

Great deal, that is around what I paid for my 250 a few years back.

Get back here and post some impressions and pictures.

Dont have them at home just yet. The dealer has to order the accessories we wanted. Might take a week or so the recieve and install them. Will be sure to psot some pictures of those bad boys as soon as they are in our garage.

You may want to ask the dealer to go ahead and keep a fuel pump in stock. If you roll snake eyes, it would be convenient not to have to wait 3 weeks to get it from Italy like I did. Just sayin'

Enjoy the new rides - I feel the endorphins hitting my brain cells when I'm on a beautiful road going nowhere special. It's a rare treat!!

Great choice - you'll love the 300. Great deal too! Congrats!

I just rolled the dice on mine last week. I'm still sporting that ear-to-ear new Vespa grin.

Picked up the two new 2010 GTS300's last Friday. Here is a picture of them after we got them home.

We took them out for a shake down cruise on Saturday. My initial impressions are. Quiet and smooth, very peppy with light handling. In 43 years of riding I have owned about 30 different motorcycles and my only complaint is WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO GET A VESPA. We love them.

Congrats! Did you get them from Scoot ABQ or Santa Fe? Either way I think those dealers have come a long way in the past couple of years in providing support for their customers.

Ride safe and enjoy!

Got them at Scoot ABQ, Mark was very helpful and cheerfully answered my MANY questions. They have a ton of Vespas in stock with great prices. Got a great deal at $5100.

Very nice looking pair of scoots, a great deal, congrats & enjoy.

just curious... coming from a long bike ownership history like yours and your comment "why did I wait so long"..... what is it you find about your new Vespa that made you say that with all the bikes you've owned, size, weight, controllability, twist & go, style, other??

Congratulations from another long term motorcycle rider (41 years and over 40 motorcycles). I bought my first Vespa a little over two years ago and had the same reaction that you did. These little suckers are a hoot to ride. I still have one motorcycle but I really enjoy riding the Vespa. I hope that you enjoy many happy miles on your Vespas.

Thats a good question. I have been a life long Rocker with Brit/Cafe style bikes. But always been intrested in Vespa, the history and the old school style. My wife has been wanting one for a couple of years, so we both pulled the trigger so we can ride together. Right now I own a Triumph Bonnie and Scrambler along with a Suzuki GSF1250 Bandit and a Husqvarna 250WR. The Vespas will fit our stable just fine, and a cool ride on its own.

Here is a pic of my Bonnie.

That's so funny you should say that, as I would always use (almost) those exact words when people asked me about my scooter just after I got it 3 years back.

"Any complaints? Just one - that I didn't get one sooner!"

Forgot to mention my major complaint. When do my feet quit looking for the foot pegs when I take off? 40 years of muscle memory I guess.

I just postponed buying a Harley for a few years by buying a Vespa. I am excited for my first ride coming up in 5 days.

Not long. About the same length of time it took me to stop thinking about a seat belt
