The hardest part is figuring out how to take the headset covers off (unsnap) you can see the screws but the positions to unsnap are not so easy to see. Yes you will need to spice in wires and run them down. Very easy job and all parts can be bought at Kragen for less than $20. If I had the time I could do a photo tutorial on how to do it but as M@ said, I'm knee deep in alligators. Oh and I laid the guy off so that he could collect unemployment while tending to some serious health issues.
If someone local wants theirs converted, I will do it for the cost of the parts and take photos while doing so but I can't do it for another month. |

Well I'm about to do the rewire on my wife's LX. I accidentally busted off one of her DOT drops, so my timeline for doing it just got bumped up big time. I'll try to take some pix while I do it. Curt, were you able to find yellow lights or did you use the stock clear?

What do you need help with?
The mechanicals of the what bulb connector to put back into the blanks that the US models put in its place? How to reroute the wires? I'm not sure the question. As I see it, undo the nub signal wires, reroute those wires (add, splice whatever) down to the blank original signals. On my LT, they were missing the bulb holder (the mechicals). I went ahead and played with using the pieces from the stubby and had it working that way, but went ahead and order the real Euro ones. |

Those Uhhgly Buuhlbs!!
I just want to replace the plastic shit with some nice chrome sockets in the same position. For chrissake, I would hope that Vespa comes up with it's own replacement next year. Otherwise I'll have to order something from a motorcycle catalogue and hope that it fits.

From scooterwest.com...
Quote: ![]() LX blinker kit, remove the USA turn signals and hook up your lower lights to work as turn signals like the European version. Kit includes all you need and instructions too. It will require you to remove the headset cover and glove box to install this kit. (LXBLINKIT).......$49 |

Just received my LX Euro turn signal kit from scooterwest.com
Here's what it includes: 1 wiring harness 2 amber bulbs 2 small hole plugs (for DOT drop holes) 2 large hole plugs (for DOT drop holes) 5 tie wraps 1 set of instructions Doesn't seem like there's much to it, not $49 worth anyway, but I'll let you know how the install goes. I'll probably start the install this weekend or once the rain lets up. |

I used 2 of these 85802 sockets from Kragen http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=RNB&mfrpartnumber=85802 I had to solder a wire to the side of it for ground. I cut off the old socket and connect the ground wire to the wire I soldered onto the side of the socket. I connect the other (hot) wire to the lower/dimmer side of socket. I take the hot wire from the old turn signals and run them down to the running light sockets. I connect these wires to the bright side of the socket. You have a choice to either run yellow or white bulbs. I chose white. These sockets will fit streight into the running light lenses requiring no cutting. Removing the headset covers is the hardest part.
