I want to thank Menhir and Michael H. for motivating me to actually go ahead and change the brake fluid in my LX150. They both provided some great tips in various posts. I'm ashamed to say it was a year overdue. I did purchase the one way valve Menhir referenced in this post and I'm happy to say it worked great.

I bribed Maureen to do the work so we can make another video. It was a really humid day, and she was a great sport. You can see it in the bloopers at the end of the video.

I've added this to the wiki, and I hope you find it both helpful and entertaining.

You can view all of the maintenance videos she produced on Happy Parrot's Vespa Adventures.

Thanks for the videos.... I'll never pay for an oil change again.
One problem though I can't seem to find the belt change video. (hint, hint)

Cheers

I get the hint. You'll just have to wait until I need it done. With two bikes, I don't rack the miles on my Vespa like some others. Laughing emoticon

If you and Maureen are taking requests, then a video of how to adjust the valve clearance would be welcome!

Now that youtube allows a 15 minute video maybe we'll get that valve clearance video on someday. Nerd emoticon

I bought one of these:

at NAPA tonight for $3.28 on sale and changed mine tonight. It has a check-valve where the black and clear tubing meet. NAPA part number BK 7769089.
The only problem I had was it wanted to leak a little around the threads of the bleeder, so after I was pretty sure all the old fluid was out and new in, I went back to the old fashioned method of putting pressure on the lever, cracking the bleeder and closing it while the lever is still moving, release lever, repeat. I did that for several cycles just to be sure there was no air in the line.
