I was just at a rally in Northern California and there were many people
with GPS mounts, some fitting behind windscreens.

I have a Garmin nuvi 255W, and a 2006 Vespa GTS, as well as a P200E.
What is the best mount for me to use? I would use it more on the GTS...

When you post your answer, provide a link to the product.

Thanks!

RAM mounts are very secure and customizable depending on how/where on the bike you want to mount. GPS City is a great place to order from. Here's a link.

+1 on the RAM mount. I have one on my GTV for a Garmin nuvi 765. It is very solid.

Hi,

I had a Ram mount, but just had to sell it, i just hated the look of the bulky thing!
When not in use, it looks real ugly bolted to your mirror stem, and is a pain to keep taking off.

they work fine though!

I had issues with the mirror/stem /U-bolts. Mainly the plastic half moons would split, vibration, etc. The 7/16' nut was a pain in the ass to do/undo.

Had this "bridge" built for the Cannonball. Its really nothing more than a 1/2 inch split collar shaft into a piece of aluminum made to fit across with threaded RAM Mount balls every so many inches. Works great so far. Local fabricator made it for $60.

+1 on RAM mounts.

Although folks complain about the appearance of the ubolt, you can put a $10 ball on each scoot, and transfer the mount from one to the next effortlessly.

The RAM products are well built and do not vibrate if you install them in the right spot (i find it helps to put a small sliver of rubber material in there to keep it from twisting on the mirror stem).

Garmin mount
Here's a picture of my RAM mount. The nice thing is when I take it off I
just have the clamp on my mirror stalk.

I don't know if there is something similar for the GTS. I've got the Garmin nuvi 680 mounted to the brake reservoir using a Motorcycle Larry's replacement cover. It is then mounted using a RAM arm, mount, and bracket that I purchased at GPS City.

Here's my Garmin on my Burgman 400:

On the right reservoir cover I've mounted a Sirius Sportster 5 that I use on longer highway trips. My iPhone stays in my pocket, and I can use it via Bluetooth on the nuvi. I have the Autocom intercom tying it all togehter.

Hope that helps,
Steve
