I'm new to the forum.
I've had my 1970 VLB for almost a month now. Paid too much, and am throwing money at it from all angles.
I'm replacing the bearings and seal on the front axle, and my question is: What holds the right side nut on? Left side castle nut with cotter pin, but what keeps the right side from backing off?

You could also just buy a complete new fork.

A Bajaj fork will be a straight swap.
