I suspect these are not going to be street legal, but used very much like Segways. They are supposed to have a top speed of only 25mph and a 30 miles range, plus as others have remarked, emergency braking is going to be an issue.
They do look cooler than segways, but on the other hand they seem less safe to me, because of the possibility of side falls (essentially impossible on a segway) and the fact that it may be harder to hop off these in a pinch. Still, they should be fun to ride. |

I don't feel dorky on my Vespa,
Except when I got passed in the fast lane by 2 Yamaha Wasit's recently. They just whizzed right past me beside me in my lane. Man, They were fast, Snuck in and whizzed by with those huge honking rear tires. Scared the hell out of me and I was going 120 km/hr. Well, Maybe I do feel dorky now. Yamaha R6, Hmmmm, Do I really want the cops watching me, Naw...I think I'll stay dorky just a little bit longer. Besides, How could I carry beer on an R6, Can't put a front rack on those things. Actually, Come to think of it, How can you carry anything on a Uni-Bike? 8) |

I think it looks cool but I also think it would be a novelty item. I have thought that at times scooters/motorcycles were on the small side and hard to see, that thing you pretty much would be seeing the rider and not the bike.
