I picked up the scoot (used) with about 1,400 miles this June and have about 4,500 miles so far. Every so often I seem to picking insulation out of the vents.... it seems to be an issue for a few days.. then doesn't happen until a week or so later.

There was also a notch cut in the left grip so I don't know if the insulation is part of the previous owners handy work.... however, neither of the two dealers I frequent can answer if this is normal...

While i don't own a GTS none of them have insulation Either the guy who you bought it from worked around insulation in an enclosed space or he stuffed some in places like the notch etc. Wha? emoticon I know it gets cold in Ohio but....... I'd take the parts apart where your seeing it come from and get it out of there. It could probably do a lot of damage if it gets into places it shouldn't. Good luck

If it's coming from your transmission case and looks like fiberglass/mineral wool insulation (not electrical) don't ride it!
That would be your variator belt shredding, like in this picture by Ifixjets:

from Dag Nabbit, my belt broke!

There's chance once it breaks it will lock up your rear wheel.

It's coming out of the radiator vents. I guess I'll have to have my husband, also known as my personal mechanic take a look at it.

There is some thin, foil covered insulation glued to the inside of the leg shield.

It protects the contents of the glove box from the heat of the radiators.

It may have come loose.

Easy fix but you must remove the inside of the leg shield to access it.

Hope this helps.
