I would try needle nose pliers, the small long nose type Snap-On sells. 8)

Get an impact screwdriver, it is an essential tool. If there is any sign of the Phillips cross left on that injured screw, this driver should loosen it:
The bowl screws?
Very soft... ( I learned that one)
Is the head completely gone?
If so remove the other 3 screws, remove the bowl and use plier/vice grips to remove screw.
If there is still some head left on the screw use an hacksaw and cut a new slot in what is left of the head and using a firm downward pressure back out the screw with a flat head screw driver...
Dremel tool is your best friend for some situations like above.
