Okay I have this great 1985 Pink PX80 and I had to put the corsa racing seat on it in order to be able to reach the ground. I am curious if I can do a single seat on this frame? or do I have do the longer "bench" seats? and if I can what would you recommend as the "thinest" seat so I can still reach.

thanks!

if you get the regular 60-70's style saddle seat, it will definitely fit. The saddle seat actually sits HIGHER than most bench seats.

Agreed. Your Corsa will be lower than saddle seat. But, a saddle seat will fit your P-series.

Good question Bitsa. It could all be for naught.

PS - I don't want to harp on this too much, but really, in theory, you should always be able to reach the ground with one foot given a tilt of the scooter to the side.

Speaking from a fellow shortie, I use the Corsa seat and I thought it would be a problem since I was tiptoeing the ground. Once I actually got on and started riding instead of gauging from sitting at a standstill, I found that slipping on and off was actually very easy. BTW here is a tip: When getting your vespa off the center stand, stand in the middle with each foot on either side of the center and lean forward. If you try to kick the center stand off from the side, you will tip over with the scooter. >.< I know it's intimidating especially if you have never ridden a manual before and your sense of safety wants you to have both feet flat on the ground while on the seat, but it is possible to ride if you can get one foot down with only a slight tilt. Just try it before you give up on your PX80.

BTW what is your inseam? Mine is 25" so it is totally manageable if yours is that or more.

Better yet, do it in style, put it in neutral, start the bike, jump on and sit down with both feet on the foot rails, grab the clutch shift into first and give it some gas and off you go. No need to rock the bike forward. If in a tight spot, give it enough gas to get it moving then quickly pull in the clutch again to kill the forward momentum and use your front break in need be. Then put a foot down to steady yourself in order to back the bike up now that you are off the stands.

Yes and I can reach with the corsa but not much. Which is why I wanna go a bit thinner
