If you are over 6', you will most likely need to have a GTS seat regardless of whether you choose the GTV or GTS.

The GTV seat does not allow you to scoot far enough back from the handlebars to be comfortable if you are tall.

Not true in all cases, but this is true as a general rule.
i have a short inseam...i am 5'7 and i usually get my motorcycle seats reupholstered to get me flat footed on the ground. I guess i do not have to worry about scooting further back on the seat....I just like to sit comfortably and be able to have both feet flat on the ground when i need it.
Although I cannot speak to the "distance to the ground" factor, at that height you should have no issues with the GTV saddle in terms of "distance from the handlebars."

I'm 6'2", and i was miserable on my GTV seat. Swapped it out with a GTS seat and all is good.
thanks again.....i guess i am not really worried about the seat...as i had stated...i always had to fix the seat to make it lower and more comfortable on my motorcycles....
I am trying to locate scooters here on long island ny. GTS or GTV will probably be just what i find that looks good and priced well. if i cannot find it here on long island or nearby....I will shop when i get to florida in Nov....lots of scooters there...thanks,

Regarding the GTS or GTV light...
I have a GTV and the fender light is not an issue. It illuminates just fine. The dealer told me that he tried both the GTS and GTV at night and he saw no difference from the drivers perspective. He did comment that he thought the low fender light might attract more attention since its lower than virtually any other vehicle on the road.

One thing I'd like to do is upgrade the light so tht its a bit brighter. I've got the kit, just haven't done it yet.
Best

I do agree there is a little bit more of the vintage vespa look...but now a whole lot more...than a GTS 250. you have the same performance and the same functional features...you pay more for the GTV features and yet get the same important functions and performance.
Again...i do agree there is that extra touch that the GTV has but i do not think that the GTS 250 is just another scooter....

i think if i came across two scooters a GTV and a GTS and they were both the same price or close...i probably would take the GTV...i do like the cosmetics. but i am looking for a good deal on a used 250...so most likely it will be whichever one comes my way.

thanks, allen

I also like the looks of the GTV but the GTS is not "just another scooter". It is the large frame modern Vespa. If you want a GTS/GTV/super, there is no other choice. You pick the trim you like.

Forget the beautiful stitched seat and classic fender headlight, oh and the splendid, almost iridescent portofino green paint--the coolest part of the GTV in my view is the speedo. It's the best of any modern Vespa, including the one on the PX which is the forerunner to the GTV's. Most modern Vespa speedos, while nice, depart too much from the spirit of the vintage Vespas for my liking.

It's too bad they chose a digital clock rather than analog. It's the only thing that spoils the illusion to the unknowledgeable.

I've had my GTV for nearly 20,000 miles and i do love it---but that damn seat is another story. a few thousand miles ago i switched to a GTS seat, what an amazing difference! It took a minute, but i actually think it looks *sportier* and matches the grips and knee pad thingies. anyone wanna buy my leather saddle, I'm never going back!

Not to mention that they couldn't be bothered to put a trip meter on it. That's my biggest beef with it.

Yes, I would have liked a trip meter I must confess. I agree an analogue clock would have been better as well.

But I do like the seat . I don't find it uncomfortable. And whatever people say, it certainly looks more comfortable!

I agree that green fits the vintage very well...I also like the handlebars on the GTV it allows me to fit my vintage Zumo GPS on it.
of course they ask more for a bike that has the same performance as the GTS....but i guess if i should decide i want the GTV then i will have to pay premium for the "V" . It is also harder to find since i want to buy a used one. thank you for your comments

re seat comfort...i usually have my motorcycle seats opened up...pull out some of the junk foam and replace with a better foam or gel...also make it lower for me. and much much more comfortable....
