hi all,i was wondering if any one could help find out my problem,my problem is when i change into third i get a bucking bronco effect which seems quite harsh on the gears, any ideas???

Not to do yourself. I imagine it's almost as expensive as they get to pay a mechanic. It involves dropping the engine and splitting the cases.

Not expensive or all that hard to do yourself, but it's definitely time consuming.

Please check your cable adjustments first. I was having the same problem, and was about to tear into it, when it was suggested my cables were out of whack. A few twists of the cable barrel adjusters and problem solved. It took a few tries to get it just right.

You may not be so lucky, but it is worth fiddling with.

Look for a recent post called Cruciform Lifespan. There is a helpful link to cable adjusting in there.

you don't need to remove your engine just split the cases and replace the cruciform with the engine in the frame. if you are only having an issue with third gear the teeth or the inside of the gear where the cruciform contacts it could be chipped or worn.
