Several years ago, when I repainted my et4, I decided an inline fuel filter would be a good idea. Then, my scoot started dying randomly... it would start after a few minutes and then act ok for a few hours or days. After a month or so of this, I realized the problem was the inline fuel filter causing this problem. The engine compartment would heat up, heating the filter, creating pressure, blocking fuel flow to the carb. Solution... removed fuel filter... Scoot worked fine....
