Sorry for not updating sooner... I'm in the middle of moving and am a bit stressed!

I talked to Astrid before the 19th. The trial wasn't actually starting on the 19th... it's just the declaration that the case is still going forward. It could be up to 6 months before we get a judge and a courtroom and the actual trial starts!!! I'll check with her again to see how it went.

No trial date in sight yet. There may be a hearing coming up in April (that the DA thinks it would be helpful to have support at) but no specific date yet. Please keep it in mind though so we can have a good showing.

STEVE i'm glad you found this thread because i couldn't I thought of her and what happened as Nov came and went while i was traveling in Africa. God will this EVER be over. Hope she is doing well and as always thanks to all ho can show up to support her. I'm far away but always there in spirit. Tell her the Hawaii gang says hi and that we think of her often.

I think these proceedings have been going on for what?...a year and half now since the accident?
The wheels of justice do grind slowly for the average joe.
In any case, I hope Astrid has also filed a civil suit, in addition to the criminal one now proceeding.

The accident was 2/26/09... 2 YEARS!

Well, I get your sentiment, but it's the defendant who has the right to a speedy trial. More often than not, they waive that right. Give witnesses more time to forget the details of what they saw.

I've been curious too.

I don't have any news about the trial, so unfortunately I don't have anything to report there... but I did see Astrid at the SF Scooter Girls rally this past weekend, and she was in good spirits.
