I'm a big fan of porters and stouts. I have many beer brewers within my group of friends as well as family, so luckily I'm never at a loss for yummy beers.
Here are two of my favorites - I also enjoy in house coffee porters and milk stouts from places like the Cambridge Brewing Co, but these are good brews you can find on tap at pubs outside of where they have been brewed ![]() ![]() |

I have a gluten allergy.
Although the label says "Beer," it's not. Not even close. Still drink it, though. ![]() |

I dont have a pic... But I have to say that "Big Hoppy Monster" is my hands down fav.
Last year was the first year that the Terapin brewing co. Bottled it. It is great if you love a really hoppy high gravity brew. Here in Nashville we have to buy it at the liqour store because of the high % content. Stupid TN Laws... Big Hoppy Monster This mammoth imperial red ale leads with a tantalizing hop aroma that is quickly complemented by an enormous malt backbone & finished with a multitude of hoppy goodness. Annual Release: August The high content alcohol of these beers make them perfect for cellaring...hide them away and pull one out for a special event 2-3 years later. WATCH OUT! THIS MONSTER BITES! ABV: 8.75% IBU's: 73 O.G.: 21.3 Malt: 2-Row Pale, Munich, Crystal 20, Crystal 30, Crystal 45, Crytal 77 Hops: Warrior, Centennial, Cascade, Ahtanum, Simco (Dry Hop) |

I like fresh, local brews, so the answer depends on where I am at the time.
Around here, the central coast of California, the Firestone beers are tough to beat. Fat Tire, Mirror Pond -- real nice ales. In Germany, the local monastery lagers are great, but Warsteiner is my favorite readily available beer. To continue the theme, in England, I'll always go for a proper local beer. No tied houses for me, if possible. |

Now here's an NSR thread I can get down with! I drink many different beers and love trying new ones, but Ranger IPA has been one of my major go-to's lately.

Dancing Camel American Pale Ale
It is a Tel Aviv microbrewery owned by a friend. My wife did their logo, and we have a case of the stuff dropped off at our door every month. Heaven! ![]() |

I've lately been on a kick of this stuff, when I can find it... It's a San Francisco brewery called "21st Amendment", and the beer is Hell or High Watermelon Wheat. I hate - HATE - fruit beers (Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, Pete's Strawberry Blonde, etc), but this stuff is so light and crisp with just the *faintest* aftertaste of watermelon. It quickly rose to the top of my "ideal summer beer after I just mowed the lawn" list.
Ice cold, please. ![]() Hell or High Watermelon Wheat
