The best brew I have had in a while was the Mint Chocolate Stout from Dogfish Head. Its quite heavy, and tastes like andes chocolates have been melted into your cup. It. IS. AMAZING.
I have only found it on tap. |

RAE i got a 6 pack of some DogFish for a friend when i was on the mainland. Seems like everybody is raving about it as well. Also looks like it's won some awards but it's rather expensive. Nice treat if your a beer lover tho. I don't like beer but the chocolate stuff might be right up my alley. 8)

Judy- I've never been a fan of, or been able to taste the chocolate in any other chocolate beer- But this one is amazing.
Also, I am blessed to live in the micro brew capital. |

RAE very true. My friend here makes his own and we were talking bout where the best micro brews comes from and he left out CO. People automatically think Wash state and Oregon but forget about CO. Where do you get it on tap there? To bad my friend doesn't live there anymore. I miss y yearly visits.

It seems to me... The type of water that is used is one of the largest factors on how good Micro Brew beers taste.... Kind of like pizza.

I must say that I have found only one beer that I didn't like so far. That was a chili pepper beer that burned my mouth. Other than that, everything has been drinkable. Many very good. I try to drink beer related to the place, restaurant or food. If eating Thai, I drink Singha, Italian I usually go for Peroni. Mexican calls for Dos Equis or Modelo In Wisconsin, New Glarus. At home we always have Heineken or Warsteiner in the refrigerator. Both good beers for the hot Florida weather. In the winter I like stouts and porters. Guinness is always good (had one last night at dinner) So are many of the locals. When I head to one of our fine local brew pubs, Intuition Ale Works, I try whatever suits me that day, and it is always good. This thread is interesting in the difference in participants then vs now. MV has changed significantly in the few years between the start and restart. |

So many good breweries have started up since this post first hit. For a domestic, Oscar Blues is the most consistently fabulous brewery in the country. If you're a beer drinker I DARE you to drink a Ten Fidy or an Old Chub Nitro and not fall in love!

YETI....... the best Stout that I have found. And will echo the sentiments that it is a truly a delight living in what has been called the NAPA Valley of Micro's. ![]() |

Radlers are the best when you're being a tourist on a hot day and want to be refreshed and not get drunk. Best radler available pretty much anywhere in the US: Stiegl grapefruit. When in Germany: any of the local versions are great. |

So thirsty I suddenly get... I mostly drink Heineken. A German friend brought these specially for me from Germany. I had never heard about the brand but I drank them like the Chinese drink Pabst Blue Ribbon: As If It Was Champagne! Andechs Doppelbock! Genuss fuer Leib und Seele! But I never say no to a Weihenstephaner Korbinian, which is a nice starter respectively accelerator with 7.4 %! ![]() ![]()
