Nah! These Chinese monstrosities (mostly in 50cc versions) are available for rental in most beach resorts. Suitable only for putting up and down the beach for those too timid to rent an actual scooter.

Yikes - I'd take sin any day!(*) It looks like a toddler's pedal toy.

Besides, the whole point of the Ape was the utility aspect (you know: Ape/Vespa - Bee/Wasp - work/play), and this has none.


* (Actually, I'd take most sins over the original Ape any day as well, but that's another story... )

Bajaj also imported several different configurations of their 3 wheel scooters into the US for a number of years. Well made and parts are still readily available. Also much more like the Ape. This other vehicle is pretty much the same as the Go-car which you can rent to "slowly" tour San Francisco.

Guy around the corner from me has one of these in yellow. My first two impression were "cool" and at least its a convertible.
