Modern Vespa

Please have a watch of this 90 second short scooter based film made by a young (26 or so) cousin of mine. It is for a competition to create awareness of the proposed "Robin Hood Tax" that is being campaigned for (making banks pay something back to society).

There is some cool location based scooter riding done in the Barbican Centre in the heart of the City of London.

The writer director has very minimal experience and, I think, has done a nice job of livening up a potentially dull subject.

Don't banks in England already pay taxes?

There is a new tax on bank bonuses, this is a tax on every bank transaction including the really big ones they do themselves. It would raise hundreds of billions of dollars (or pounds).

I liked a lot - he will get my vote in the Competition.

Banks should pay stamp duty on a lot of their work transactions but they avoid and pay lawyers to make structures that avoid this tax. This is largely because they are multinationals - yet the effects of their work/failure can be felt very clearly here.

Great video but this seems to be be a political thread for as the video says it is about collecting hundreds of billions in new taxes. It will probably soon be locked. I think I know who really pays the tax and hope you keep it your side of the pond.
