The weather has been perfect lately and we have been taking the scooter to work everyday and leaving the cage at home. On my way back yesterday as I was cutting through traffic the scooter died for what seemed to be no reason? I pulled over to the side and lifted the seat checking all of the connections and it started right up again after about 10 mins? I am still not totally sure what happened of if I fixed it or not but now I am a little concerned that it could happen again?

Nothing is more intriguing than an intermittent fault.

How long had you been driving, what speed were you doing, do you have coolant, do you have oil?

What year is the scoot?

Ooops, I see your handle is 2007gts. so that would be 2007.
Asking because the fuel pump failures seem to mostly affect 2009-2010 FI bikes.

Could you hear if the fuel pump was "whirring" or was there too much ambient noise around?

Sorry to hear it happened in traffic. The last time I had a problem, I was splitting traffic, in the rain, after dark.

I had been driving for about 20 mins when it happened. I was braking pretty hard as I was coming up on a red light as I was lane splitting and when I went to hit the gas the bike sputtered and died but I had enough speed where I immediately turned right for the side of the road.

Yep, it's a 2007. I am scheduled to take it into Massimo early next week to have him go over the bike. There is a slight coolant leak so I want him to look at that issue at the same time.

Way too much noise around me during that time of the day and I had my ear plugs in too. Your right it really did suck in traffic and I am glad it did not die while I was stopped at the front of the line with 1/2 miles of angry drivers behind me...
