Out of nowhere, my headlights, horn, brake lights all stopped
working. Battery is charged and starter works great. Ideas?

Starter, like electric starter? Or do you just mean that the bike will start and run, i.e. ignition?

If electric starter, it's likely that your bike deviates pretty far from the stock electrical system, as no Sprints came with electric start.

General tips for all bikes would be to check the fuse (should be near battery), and check all electrical connections for any loose wiring, especially near the battery and in the headset of the bike near headlight and key switch. Your switch may also be non-standard and somewhere other than the headset, like near the choke lever or something.

Might also help to introduce yourself a little bit, tell us where you're at, how you got the bike, etc... but that's up to you.

The older Sprint didn't have a key switch or battery . Sounds like a coil [a simple fix] replace the old one . Then you can start at the beginning and working you're way up from there is pretty simple . A new coil will also make the lights brighter . Also check the condition of the wiring down by the plate . If it is a short of that degree it would have to be at the box or plate .

'67 Sprint electrical issues
Thanks for the input! I am new to this (obviously) and really appreciate your ideas. The bike is a 1967 Vespa Sprint 150. Runs like a top and always starts on the first kick. I have been riding the bike for almost three years and this is the first electrical issue. If the battery needs replacing, could that cause the electrical issues but still allow the bike to start so easily?

jamesjohn, this one's for you.....

What shape is your headlight?

a 67 sprint with what sounds like a new "upgraded" motor (read LML)... Where did you get this new scooter?
