Trying to book my Mod 1 test in Enfield online. The DSA dates are impossible. There's three early mornings this Fri and then nothing until the 8th November!!?
Is it better to phone up or something?

Boswelox, I thought you were going to book the A2 course with Eastside Riders. If you book the A2 course the third day of the course is the actual module 1 test. They will also book the Module 2 portion of the test for you.
If you are going down this route you don't have to worry about booking mate. Good luck! |

Aye the bike schools block book so you can normally get much shorter notice tests arranged through them.

yes the schools block book all the dates.
my mate who did it without any lessons complained that this was not fair as schools are not a compulsory part of the test and suddenly the test centre had all these dates open up. |

Think I may make a call myself. Eastside riders are saying they don't have a course until Oct 31st.
I'm not waiting two months to ride around some bloody cones - I've been riding 50cc bikes in London for 10 years! It's ridiculous that you can't get a date before 8th November. I've got a bike I want to ride and I'm ready to take the test. I'm going get a date and hire myself a 125GT and just take it. |

I'm doing my module 1 test at enfield too. I phoned up about a month ago and booked it for early October. It is slightly ridiculous that there's such a huge backlog.
To those suggesting doing it through a school, I'm put off by the very high cost. £300+ from what I've seen, but yes, you're paying for getting the license faster. I'm in no rush, so I'm booking the tests directly. If I pass both tests then I'll feel very smug having only spent about £80. If I fail... I just won't tell anyone ![]() |

The training is not riding around some cones! The A2 Training aim is to sharpen your existing skills, break you of any bad habits, and prepare you for both Module 1 and Module 2 tests. If you've been riding for 10 years you have probably picked up some bad habits, which the the training will correct. When I moved here from the USA I had been driving a car for 15 years, but if I had taken the DSA driving test without lessons I would have surely failed just because of my bad habits. I know I certainly would not have passed motorbike Module 1 without the training. It was money well spent; for me at least. If Eastside Riders is not available there are plenty of other schools, check em out. Here's a couple of links which describe my account of the training so that you get an idea what the course is like: Part I -- Diary of a Learner (New DSA Test) Part II -- Diary of a Learner (New DSA Test) |
