Might be too much $$$ for some but the combination of lightweight, good ventilation, huge eye-hole, and the padding kit to custom fit it for your noggin could make it a good buy. And it is DOT, ECE, and NBR-7471:2001 approved.

I couldn't find it for less than asking price; but Revzilla had it for the same price as everybody else with free shipping and $25 off my next purchase. They also took off $10 from a previous purchase. It is over a pound lighter than the full-face I've had since I bought the bike in '08.

Re: Lightest full-face lid ever reviewed by webbikeworld
I have the non-carbon XR1R and love it! The Nexx workmanship and design on these helmets seems first rate. I have been really pleased.

And Revzilla seems like a great place to buy. Helmet purchases can be a little tricky with returns, even at local places, and I think Revzilla does as well or better than most. I have not bought much from them, but when I have, they have been great! I was lucky enough to find the XR1R locally, and at a good price!, but even they had to order it.

Enjoy the new helmet and post a report!

Just read what webBikeworld had to say, watched video too at Revzilla. Great find. I've bought a few items from Revzilla as well (revit pants, helmet, etc) they're always willing to help in sizing and returns. Nice to get $$$ off next purchase too. Thanks for reminding me heinlein... I have a few donaro's waiting to be used. (I would buy this "Hat" in a snap if I were back to riding!)

One other good thing about Revzilla is not only do they have free shipping but if you have to exchange for a different size they ship the replacement free as well.

Up until now the most expensive helmet I've ever had cost $180.99 including shipping. With diminishing returns I know this won't be three times as good; but hopefully I will be happy with it.

I just bought one 2 weeks ago, they are sweet helmets. The face opening is huge too, there is no blockage of my peripheral vision like on other full face helmets.
The ventilation is incredible too.

I might try one but I'm worried about the visor non-quick release. Since I ride at night and wear glasses I have a tinted visor for day and a clear one for night and I just switch them out when I get to work no tools involved. This helmet looks like it would take more time to switch over visors and even though it has the pinlock visor feature, you can't really switch inserts without removing the shield. Still it sounds intriguing.

I just ordered the tinted shield, so I can tell you in a few days how long it takes to change the shield.

Thanks that would be nice to know, my wallet wants it to take a long time with fiddly screws and such not.

Hmmm Amazon with free Prime shipping eh? Tempting but none of the White/Black helmets are in stock and I'm a big fan of white helmets vs Black or Grey ones. Still hoping the visor is a beyotch to change out on a routine basis.

It is pretty light compared to my Shoei Multitech.

My Shoei lists at 3lbs 15oz compared to the 2lbs 11 oz for the Nexx so if my math is anywhere close the Nexx is 32% lighter which is quite a bit I would think.

It ain't the wallet that's crazy, it's the hand holding the wallet that's crazy. Laughing emoticon

They also have this one; although it may not be as light as the carbon.

How is the sound level? Say as compared to a modular, or your other full-face helmet? Thanks!

I'm not knocking Amazon as I've spent my share of $$$ there; but when RevZilla has it for the same price and both have free shipping and Revzilla gives $25 credit towards a future purchase and takes off the $10 credit from a past purchase the scales are definitely tipped in RevZillas's favor.

Very quite, it has ear flaps in the helmet you can adjust for comfort and noise level. I have them pulled down out of the way because I have the speakers from my Parrot SK4000 head set mounted.
I would not hesitate to buy this helmet again.

My helmet is definitely not light (Scorpion EXO-400). However, the only time it feels even remotely heavy is when I'm stopped. While riding, the aerodynamics of the helmet pretty much make it disappear.

Thanks! Sounds like a nice setup, may have to look at it for spring. I like my Scorpion Xformer but its a bit noisy and weighty.

Here's a great video on the Kevlar/Carbon version, not quite as light, but same features.

I got the dark tint shield and it took less 5 min to swap out the first time.
Oh, and they are not phillips screws, they are just a wide flat blade.

Thanks for the feedback - sounds easy enough. I didn't order the tinted, so won't have to change it for a while, but might make that investment down the road. I'm hoping it will accomodate sunglasses - from the review, it certainly sounds like it will.

My Nolan N-102 has an integrated sun-visor that I use all the time. On a sunny day if I hit a wooded area I flip it up, and I can flip it down in bright sunlight. It's just a personal preference but I find that to be a userful feature.

As far as helmet noise, if I'm on a longer trip I'll use actove noise-canceling earphones with noise-blocking foam earbuds. It makes riding less tiring.

Yes, and it weighs close to twice as much as the Nexx Carbon

From WEB Bike World:
"A medium Nolan 102 tips the scales at 1820g (4.01 lbs) and the extra large size weighs in at 1850g (4.08 lbs) making the N102 among the heaviest modular helmets on the market and one of the heaviest modular helmets we've reviewed."

I'm sure it's a case of "ignorance is bliss". I've toured with the Nolan for 3 weeks at a time and gotten used to it, it doesn't seem particularly heavy to me I get an endorphin rush just putting it on because I know I'm going to be riding.
