Hello to all @ modernvespa
"quick history" just purchased a 125 for the family private sale hardly been used been standing for two years, the tilt/ suspension lock feature hasn't worked from when I purchased bit heavy underpowered otherwise rides great, few strange looks after taking it round the block to clean the pipes out
I've made sure all the main fuses under the seat & down by the right hand foot rest are OK, re-seated electrical connectors on wheel sensors, made sure fluid levels are all correct checked for any seizure in the tilt lock calliper/mechanism cable, charged up the battery .etc
When turning on the ignition double beep or 'meep' sounds, the red tilt lock fault light flashes for an instance and the amber light flashes on and then permanently off on the dash and I get no engagement of the tilt/suspension systems and/or hydraulic geared master unit with a windscreen wiper motor on the back, crude analogy but you get the picture!
It would be nice to enable this feature because it's difficult for the girls to roll the bike back onto the centre stand as the bike is rather heavy.

I'll kick off with a demonstration of my ignorance. Some European MP3 models were sold without a tilt lock functionality. I am not clear if that meant the functionality was there but disabled, or if the entire mechanism was absent. Do you know for a fact that your scooter was not one of them? (I would presume that those scooters did not have a tilt lock switch or light, but I have no experience on which to base that presumption.) (And before somebody says that Piaggio would never have bothered to put the tilt-lock mechanism in and then disable it, look up what Intel did with its "483SX" chip...corporations have done stranger things.)

What happens if you attempt to engage by pushing the tilt lock button twice quickly?

on the ignorance path
Me too on the ignorance path, the only thing I know it has all the appropriate switches and windows/lights on the dashboard and the mechanism under the plastics, tried pushing the tilt lock rapidly twice to no avail, thanks for the stab rjeffb
You assume right bike is in the UK and it's a 08 model

Start by checking that both the front wneel speed sensors are OK. Lack of a flashing yellow light indicates the ECU thinks the MP3 is moving and a faulty speed sensor will do this. Verify the wire is good. Unplug and make sure conneciton is clean (add some diaelectric grease) and pull the speed sensor off and make sure it does not have a build up on it.

I'm not sure but I think there is a sensor under the seat to.
If there is a sensor maybe that sensor also are a part of the problem?

Sometimes I can't lock the front wheels.
The red lamp will not go out.
I have to turn of the engine and start up again and then it will work.
I don't know why.
