Modern Vespa

The Canadian website is now showing the Platinum MP3 500 Sport model, but they do not really say if there is anything other than a paint color change ala Harley. However, they do not show the 400 model, and show a 500 touring model with the 400 style trunk. Both at the same list price, although the regular one comes in - GRAY - not exactly a HOT HOT color. Maybe the US will get one in a different color.....

Think its the same, just cosmetics---too bad. The grey looks pretty nice I thought!

I'm not particularly impressed with the job they did tarting up the Sport. Just throwing decals and paint around doesn't do much for me.

The Tourer doesn't look any different to me than a current 400 (may even be the same picture). But it does indicate that maybe Piaggio is understanding the North American market a little better. They are still faced with a hard sell with the MP3 premium coming in at over $2000 (US) and over 100 pounds.

The Piaggio Canadian site is still pretty confused...They show a conventional red MP3 500 for the perspective views of both trikes.

A 500 with the 400 style... but not exactly hot colors... Aprillia's have sexy Italian bikes what is wrong here. I know with less sales you cannot change every 2 years like sport bikes, but give us better tuned engine, suspension options something other than a decal. The Adiva is coming out with their own trike and it looked undecided whether it would have the 500 engine, but red leather seats, convertible, huge trunk, windshield wiper/squinter. That's something. Maybe that will get some competition and do something... The Peugoet looks more refined, it's a hybrid, and has ABS..... we will see... The Peugeot get's power from all wheels and I think more options...

And the Hymotion from Peugeot will be out in Oct in France in 2 versions

125cc Turbo and 2× Electric motors in the frontwheels with 30BHP and a 300cc turbo and 2 Electric motors in the front wheels with aprox 45bhp the 30 and 45 bhp is for the electric and 125/300cc together

and it has no ABS
