I just got my new Givi windscreen and was installing it on my 500ie when I noticed a small gap between the left side panel and the frame. I pulled the panel and found that all the top plastic tabs were broken off and missing. (I guess that sort of thing can happen when you buy used.) The gap is small and does not seem to affect anything. The screws seem to hold everything in place fairly well..
Are there any issues just leaving the panel without the top tabs or are there any ideas for replacing the tabs without getting a full new side panel?

if you had the broken tabs you could plastic weld them back on. The tabs are just for making a tight fit around the panel and the screws should do you fine for just holding it on. As for right now you could just live with it till you could find a used one or get a new one from a dealer.

My tabs are all fine, but I managed to break one of the screw holder mounts And that's on the side that I can't get the bottom screw to line up on, either. And since I don't want to repaint it yet, I'll just let it be for now. It's been several thousand miles and it's still holding in position just fine.

Have a few broken also, used, and probably broke two myself first time removing. Tried to glue them, maybe next time I will expoxy a tab, an file it into shape. It is cosmetic mostly, tighter seal.

With a prolific poster such as Luthorhuss, it's hard to know where to start. I tried searching on all posts with threads contributed by, or started by, Luthorhuss, but the forum "Search" function was not my friend when it came to finding anything about repairing the tabs themselves. Closest match I got was "The side panels are "easy" to get off, but the more you take them off, the more the tabs break...eventually all of them will be gone"

Anyone recall the context in which this repair advice was offered? Or perhaps the good sir Luthorhuss might be kind enough to sound off and help a brother out?

Here you go:
some body shop tips, anyone?

Remembered a paper clip was involved. Helps to know a good search word.

Just saw this stuff. It might be the new duct tape. Well, maybe not. But it might fix/replace tabs.
