I had ridden a ways from home in Georgia, thought I was in Soujth Carolina and did not think I had made it to the middle east but found myself in Promised Land.
Moses wasn't searching in the wrong place was he?

Friendship Tennessee
I recommend visiting Friendship, Tennessee first so you have someone to ride with into Promised Land. So, did you visit? Is the name ironic?
Also, I'm a new member! Hello to all. |

SC 10 definitely due for resurfacing as can be seen in pic. I saw the Promised Land fire volunteer fire department. I might have been riding to fast to see the other highlights or perhaps there was another street.

Maybe you should have taken a Raoul instead of a Luigi? A similar incident occurred to me as I was touring thru Mississippi this summer. One must excercise caution while traveling through strange country....

When I read the title of this post I did not even think about that it might have quite a great deal to do with me. I bought my first home just down from the Promised Land in North Georgia. The area actually has a really cool story behind it...it's not what you think...not biblical directly like you might assume. I lived in Snellville, but actually closer to Stonecrest Mall. The area is a suburb of Atlanta and home to a lot of affluent african americans. It's a very nice area, but during the Civil War much of the land belong to a slave owner. He was a brick mason and as such, used many of his slaves in the same endeavor where they picked up the trade. When he died, the land and slaves went to the owner's wife. She was a compassionate Christian lady and promised all the slaves that when she passed away she would ensure that each of them got a piece of land to build a home from bricks with using the skills they had learned. She stayed true to her word and the vast land was split up and very well constructed brick homes went up. When you go to the area I lived near, you can travel miles and see these really nice brick homes all built on each farm from that era. It's really nice and the area is still inhabited mainly by their descendants.
