Nice pictures Sergei. I have a question though, I noticed that in the beginning the pictures show both sides of the vespa intact but in one picture it shows some serious damage. Did you dropped it?

Thank you! Yes I did fall with my bike. Pretty much in the beginning of my trip. I was going on a very twisty road and took a conner too fast. I had very bad back breaks so had to break pretty hard with my front break. (I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go down if I changed my breaks before the trip) I decided to try to hold my bike straight and stop on a gravel area to the side... my front break locked and I went down. I broke my ankle (not very bad, but still wasn't fun to do majority of the trip with a broken ankle) but other wise I was pretty good. Had to replace some fluids in my bike and clean filters from gravel.

I didn't say anything on my blog because my parents were reading it and I didn't want them to worry at that time.

I'm planning a trip from BC to ride the Baja next year on my KLR 650, but I've always thought it would be cool to do on a properly prepared Vespa. Hmm, the wheels are turning...

How did your camera equipment hold up being carried in the pet carrier under the seat?
In the spring of 2012 I have a 4 week sabbatical to which I'm taking another four weeks of vacation. going to try and see as many National Parks and places I can on my GT 200. I will be traveling alone. Camera gear ( 7D, 17-40 f4 ,24-120 f4, and a 70-200 f2.8. and maybe tripod) and a laptop, and clothing, extra gas and a limited repair kit. where to carry the camera and laptop seem to be my most difficult decision. The pet carrier seems to be the safest, but worried about heat and vibration. Top case seems another option.

Just interested in finding out how your held up and would you do it differently

My camera equipment was just great.. I had Canon 1D, 16-35 and 70-200 under my seat all the time and it did just fine. Laptop wouldn't fit there and I would try, I usually just have it in my back.

Have fun and don't forget to post photos, would be nice if you will have a blog to follow

so surprise that you rode a long trip with little luggage. is there any problem with ur scooter?

I stayed in hotels so didn't need any camping gear. No problems with scooter. Rock hit my oil filter and crashed it in half.. that was all

I'm planning to do an even longer trip next summer.. going to Florida.. hopefully it will work out
