Talked to the seller today. I started the dickering at $100, he came back with $275. I went up to $150, he came down to 250. We met in the middle at $200.
Now the fun starts. I will pick the scoot up next week, after payday. Hope to be able to tell you all more then, Beale.

Hey Beale
Beale,

Congrats on the new vintage scoot.
I had the same reaction you did with Larry's "crouching chimp" story Laughing emoticon

that's cool. I'm pretty much a vintage geek. I've restored 2 of them from bare metal frame. I'd love to help and give advice where I can. I'm learning lots about the modern Vespa on this board. I've just never had to do anything to my GT except change the oil in mine so far.

Wow. Are we all doing restores this winter? We might need a modern vespa peeps with vintage restores going on forum.

I hope to being doing a GS160 MK1 and VBB soon too.

Beale, you've scored. I've missed so many scooters for thinking twice about the price, so congrats.

Hope you don't spend too much time over in the 'dark side'....(scooter bbs), but there are alot of informed folk over there who know the vintage scoots.

You will of course spend way too much for your return but you will have a good time. I did, and still do.

Look up Chelsea at SCOMO.com, they are fair about prices and have everything you will need(as do others). She is in Richmond.

I love my old bikes but ride the modern bike when I really want to get there.

Enjoy your new project and ask questions as you need to, there are many folks around this board who know the old bikes too.

Good luck and thanx for saving another old Vespa from the trash.

Re: The old Veaspa Resto is mine!
Good Deal! Congratulation!

Let us soon know which type it is and provid us with some pix.

Have fun with your new Vespa and the restoration.

I did some too and I enjoyed it very much.
