Wow, what did they do to that side cowl? Those vents are bizarre. Strangely I almost kinda like them though.
And what in the world is going on under that seat and package tray? |

Vents there, on a normal motor are completely pointless, since the air intake into the carb is sealed from the engine compartment using the air bellows. Especially the vents in the back. You can see where they covered over the regular cowl vents with bondo instead of steel. classy. |

I posted under bodgespotting about this guy. I was actually able to find a portion of the shipping manifest where he ordered them from Vietnam.

I dunno...
Assuming that this is a low cost customization to someone's beat-up personal ride, I think it has elements of greatness Personally, I would have left off all of the Vespa insignias, the chrome at the bottom of the horn cover, and absolutely the tacky plastic floor mat |

Yes, it's more interesting than the regular 2-tone crap and some folks may get racooned by the chrome/style - finding it pretty and shiny, but it's still a bodge. A fucknugget travesty of the highest order. Just cause they picked a cool color doesn't make it any less suspect the way I do math. |

I didn't catch that someone was trying to sell it off to third parties I thought that was just a pic of what some amateur did to their own scooter |

I think that this thread hits on an important facet of bodges- to the untrained eye they look great. If I didn't know anything about Vespas, it would be easy to think that this thing is an awesome looking scooter, because it does look awesome right until the point that you compare it to what a Vespa of that vintage should look like. If someone bought an old Allstate and modified it to give it the same look as this scooter, it would be fine. I would be the first to say that it is the owner's prerogative to modify to their heart's content and fly their freak flag high. However, this scooter was shipped from Vietnam and is now being sold for $4500!
I wouldn't even ride on this thing- I can't tell if the fork is messed up or if it is just the fender, but the front end doesn't look right to me. |

Thanks Mike Z & Turtle GT re: V98
Also, the headlight looks crooked and the indicators have been stolen from my old 1986 Hyundai. |

Has anyone actually been killed or hurt riding these things or are they just called death traps because of the shady welding?
