Nothing at the moment.

But I'm sure I'll think of something before long... like when it hits 100F maybe?

Post Office This time!
You may recall my b!thching a couple days ago about the FedEx package situation, still waiting on that!

Well a couple days back I needed a part for my Sportster, used fender support. Found one on Ebay and guy agreed to my offer. It was in Rochester MN. not far from NY.

He had it to the Post Office the next morning and I got the tracking number just fine. A day latter it was in Saint Paul and then heading to me, or I thought!

Just this morning I get updated tracking info telling me that it is at the Seattle WA distribution site! Since when is Seattle on the route from Saint Paul MN to Syracuse NY?

Glad I didn't tear apart the bike to be ready for the part that should have been here early this afternoon!

Pissed off because I just realized the US Govt. should provide tax credits on scoots just as they do for solar panels.

Both save energy, right?

But doesn't lower pollutants and that's what the Gov't is looking for.

Well if you could prove you use it instead of a (non electric) car it does. Ok, fine I'm sure you could probably point to a few really efficient cars or something like that but you get the point...

Mind you the thing with the electric vehicles is something has to make the electricity and the batteries don't last forever.

I have two bikes and no car and that is on purpose. More practical (in my case), better on the environment and more fun. More fun than solar panels anyway as they you know... just sort of sit there. 0 - 60 in never.

No, it doesn't.
You will use less fuel, sure.
But to say you will cause less pollution is not correct.
Take the whole VW fiasco as a for-instance.
40x higher pollution than allowed, but still good fuel economy.
Two different issues entirely.

As an example; an 150 Vespa puts out close to the same emissions as the newest Chevy Suburban.
People don't understand how clean our cars run these days.

OK fine.

Can we agree that a Vespa takes up less space on the road and uses fewer tires?

Edit - changed wheels to tires.

But how about the wear and tear on the roads compare to those big SUV's and 4X4 trucks with the monster tires that make almost as much noise as some Harleys?

Scooter tyres last about 1/10th as long as car tyres.

You Kiwis have some pretty cool cops.

Though I'd be curious to see some hard proof that scooter tires last 1/10th as long as car tires. I'd also like to see the vid of you pulling a wheelie on a 4 stroke Vespa. Now that would be cool.

Those big tires equal less wear on the roads than stock tires, so not sure how big tires come into play, since about 0.1% of vehicle on the road have them. Less pounds per square inch of contact patch.

Yes. And a Chevy Suburban can seat up to nine people. So, a Suburban can haul many more people for the same pollution as a scooter. And most scooters only transport one person at a time, so nine scooters stretched out in a safe following distance to each other would take up more of the road than a Suburban. So maybe the Suburban needs to get the tax break? Clown emoticon Razz emoticon
