My '80 P200E has a hole in the shroud over the cylinder head that various diagrams show a bolt going. Taking the shroud off doesn't reveal a threaded hole for any kind of bolt to go.

Should the P200E have a securing bolt, and if so can anyone explain what it goes into?

Or is this just a function of the shroud being used on other models that accomodate this bolt.

Thanks in advance!

You are missing the spacer nut and the securing bolt.

Snug the spacer nut down on the head stud. Install the shroud. Install the securing bolt with a lock washer. Bobs your uncle.

Thanks for the photo- Makes perfect sense now.

Seems kinda strange to me that something that easy to put on would get left off. That sort of thing irks me...
