LA to San Fran and back.

So far the longest I've done is about 30. Just picked up my scooter last night and couldnt help but cruise all over town for a few hours.

Alexandria, VA, to Boston, MA, in July 1959, on a 1954 NSU/Lambretta. It took four days, because my top speed was 45 mph, unless I could get behind a truck, which allowed me to go 50.

Ok, I'll bite.

San Diego to Lake Tahoe 614 miles, 12 hours (and a video to prove it ) and back; another 614 miles, another 12 hours, all on the same weekend, on my GTV. 8)

I stumbled upon this thread because I was trying to find out what was truly the longest scotter ride. I've been toying with the idea of doing a cross-country scooter ride - in hopes to set a Guinness World Record (of course there is a lot of work to do with the Guinness folks to establish and record the ordeal).

Maybe Vespa would sponsor some of the trip...
Maybe able to play off the gas craze and get published in an automobile or motorcycle magazine.....
Maybe Vespa would lend me me a new Hybrid MP3 for the advertisement...

The longest trip I have heard of so far is between 1,000 and 1,500.

I suspect a trip across the USA and back could easily set some sort of record. If not, a trip from San Diego to Wasnhington, to Maine, to Florida, then back to San Diego should be able to do the trick.

Anyway, isn't it fun to dream?

There's a guy who has ridden around the world on a vintage Vespa. I think a guinness record is going to be fairly difficult.

sweet. I'm betting that bike really does well on speed bumps.

About the only thing up for grabs is best mileage in 24 hours. I've no idea who else here may have done it, but Huskyteer has got an Iron Butt award for over (well over as it turned out) 1000miles in 24 hours.

My longest ride would probably be from Irvine to Santa Barbara along the coast highway. I think its a bit over 150 miles each way.

480+ miles (we got lost a lot) in 15 hours in the Mad Bastard Rally- Secondary roads, gravel and fun!

Longest day was 233 miles. It was with a few other members of the LISSC doing the 2 Forks and 2 Ferries ride on Long Island, NY.

Longest two day trip was with the NYSC from NYC to Howes Caverns via the Catskills and back via route 9w. Total miles 434.

125 mile, San Diego to Julian. For a piece of mom's apple cupcake.

Longest ride in a single day:

561 miles
16 hours
From Chattanooga TN to West Virginia, and back across to somewhere in Ohio 'cause I took a wrong turn in the dark.
Couldn't find a campground in the same dark.
Found a Hotel instead.
I slept very well that night.

Decided it would be a very good idea to buy a GPS.

My longest non-stop ride was achieved in the "Minnesota 2000" in the year 2000, when I did over 2000 miles in 48 hours (On a 650 Burgman). My longest trip was 4800 miles from San Jose, CA, to Franklin, TN and back on my GTS250. This year I traveled to Dallas, TX and back on my GTS250, about 4000 miles. Great rides! Can't wait to get on the road again!

I did a 550 mile day on my 2009 GTS from Huntington Beach (So. Cal.) To Idyllwild, dropped down into Palm Springs, down to Indio, did a circle around the Salton Sea, across to Julian, over to Oceanside and back up the coast to Huntington Beach. It was a 12 hour cruise. I left work at 9:00 a.m. one time to make a 2 hour ride around Pales Verde. I told the guys I'd be back for lunch. Two days later I was in Monterey. That's about 600 miles round trip. The hardest part of long range cruising for me is to keep the focus on speed and distance and not to take off on every side road just to see where it goes. I like the unstructured cruising style where you flip a coin at every intersection. I'm kind of in training for a 1000 mile day. I don't expect it to be too difficult, but how do I deny myself 1000 opportunities to explore another road.

P.S. I got my user name (25K) by logging 25,000 miles on my 22 ft Cobalt Cuddy Cabin boat. That's a lot of trips from the Mexican boarder to Alaska and back.

Me and my buddy love taking daily trips along the coast on PCH in the summer.

Just did LA-Santa Barbara (194 miles) and LA-Laguna Beach (180 miles) a month ago. The best part was studying the map, remembering the route and checking out every little town along the way that we didn't get to see when driving on the freeways.

It usually takes about 3 hours to get to the destination. Spending some time checking out the gallaries and art fairs, reading and napping on the sand, then heading back befort sun goes down ... mmm...

We're thinking about going to Ojai or San Diego next.

Longest ride in one day was las Vegas to Austin like 1,355 miles four weeks ago but not on vespa, I did on burgman 400. I put 15,500 miles on burgman this year (April, July, sept) on three different trips

I did it in one day because I want to go home and sleep in my bed than in hotel bed

longest ride on vespa was Austin to kingsland then back with me and girl friend. That was like 60 miles each way

All my longest rides have been with a pillion...

Surely 2up GTS riding qualifies for some kind of distance multiplier??

That's an incredible mileage for one day - you'd have to be averaging 56mph for every moment of those 24 hours! Did you just have a huge petrol tank and pee into a tube? Must admit I used to get shattered just doing a 3rd of that.

This summer I did a little over 200 in one day on my '63 Lambretta, just riding the back roads of New York and New Jersey. I did about 250 on my ET4 last year.

Then Murphy to the Dragon and back to Chattanooga - about 300 miles - 1 day
Chattanooga to Memphis - 385 miles - 1 day
Last 230 were in the pouring down rain
Total = 1,116 miles, 4 days
All to to attand Hill on Wheels in Chattanooga! We had a great time!

Me and my fiance` rode from Phoenix, Az to Las Vegas,NV and back last spring for High Rollers. Was an awesome ride out, however, I wore a half helmet all the way out, forgot to apply sunblock and arrived with a lobster complexion. Had an awesome time and on the way back hit 45 mph winds, sand storms , AND rain not to mention it was freezing as well all the way back. An adventure that brought me and my other half closer together but would I would gather she will NOT want to repeat it!

ha no i have nothing, I just stop for gas every two hours and half... I went about 72 mph on gps all day. when I stopped, i take little easy and not being in rush, go bathroom, eat some snack, drink gatorade and water. put frogg toggs on and off twice from cold and rain, took some pics, and texting to my friends... if I was in hurry, I would be home two hours faster... I left Vegas at 10:45am and arrived Austin at 8:15am (10:15 vegas) yes I woke up all night on i-10
I never feel sore or anything, my body is so happy because burgman have brakeaway cruise control, beadrider.com, givi tall windshield, custom backrest- plus with gps, HID headlights, some other stuff..
few years back I rode reflex 250 TX to FL three different round trips, TX to GA then back, Bunch to norman,ok then back, CO to TX, CO to AZ round trip - I didn't have all those add-ons like on burgman, way tough riding on reflex oh boy....

1,354 miles - $61 for gas vegas to austin on my burgman 400 ha nice!!!!! wondering what gts will get? what about cars? ooo ouch!

My longest ride on a scooter was from Lakeport in Northern California to Lansing, Michigan ... and back! It took almost 2 weeks to make the trip to Mi in the spring of 2006. On the way back, I had to leave the scooter in Rock Springs Wy. for a month before I could finish the trip.

To date on this scooter, 1000 miles round trip. From DFW to Marfa, Tx for a concert. Arrived at 8pm Friday night and left out 8am the next morning due to non-stop rain. (I was staying in a teepee tent). But I got to see Meshelle Ndegeocello so it was worth it!

I've made this trip several times. First time on a Kymco B&W 250, then on a Honda Reflex and most recently on a Honda Silverwing. On each trip I stay several days and visit friends and family. The first time was an experience, now it's not too bad. That being said, riding on I80 in the rain on the way home was a stressful experience. The rain began in central Illinois and didn't stop until I was an hour east of Des Moines.

I'm picking up a new to me 2006 BV500 tomorrow! It has a little under 10k miles and is in really good shape. Sadly I only have room for two scoots so my Reflex is on Craigslist in Omaha now. It's a great scoot but I do love the convenience of fuel injection vs carbs.

^^^this round trip to a hardware store...hoping to double that distance round trip the next time i visit family if the weather cooperates...bought the scooter mainly for ripping around town though...just couldn't justify owning a motorcycle anymore but wanted to still have a 2 wheeled toy...if i can convince a couple buddies to buy scooters i'm sure i'd put more miles on...only problem is they only want 50cc scooters

Llanddewi brefi to Slutzck in Belarus then onto Gomel Ukraine and back again 2004.

I tried to cover 1500 miles in 24 hours last year but hit a dear corpse at 1 am at around 70 mph just outside Le Mans so I called it a day at 849 miles.

Longest day on a scooter 712 miles on my way to Amerivespa when it was in Indianapolis. After leaving Indy I went up to Maine to click off New England from my ride map, total approx. 4,300 miles on that trip.

The longest was 7,280 in conjunction with 2016 cannonball since I rode round trip taking the scenic route when not actually participating in the cannonball.

4000+ miles Cannonball 2018 Morro Bay, CA to Virginia Beach, VA then to Amerivespa in Richmond, VA
