Oh, I'll leave it to Jim If all goes well I'll be returning it next week anyway.

So, you know those notices at petrol stations requesting you please ensure you have means of payment before filling up? Today I got to find out what happens if you don't.

Contrary to my expectations, you're not immediately clapped in irons. Instead they take your registration, name and phone number, then you're allowed to go home and fetch your wallet. It probably helps if you're a well-spoken white female on a comedy scooter.

I didn't request Nectar points.

Also I saw Darth Vader waiting to cross the road at the Florence Nightingale roundabout, so I'm not entirely convinced my day so far hasn't all been a dream.

You guys have mentioned plays before so I'll mention I went to the Globe theatre (London) to see Ann Boleyn and came out very impressed. It only cost £5 for standing and I think it gave a more authentic feeling as well. Well worth going if it ever stops raining.

Wow, that is a bit of a curve ball of an intelligent question/comment on this thread.

All we have to do now is wait for the long silence, tumble weeds to blow by and then for Bill to tell us that Transformers 3 is coming to a stage near you soon and that it is one of Shakespeare's best works. Nerd emoticon

PS: Saw Frankenstein, directed by Danny Boyle recently which was great. Also saw a preview of this http://www.hampsteadtheatre.com/page/3031/LOYALTY/251 the other day which is about how the Americans conned us British into going to war with Iraq. Also very good and amusing too.

Taking the family to see the new musical of Matilda which starts soon. All the music and lyrics written by Tim Minchin (UK comedian).

Now who's showing off then? Horror, Political Satire and Musical Comedy.

That is a full portfolio! I have yet to see anything at the Globe - I really must.

I recently saw a three-and-a-half-hour Ibsen play about the life of Emperor Julian. It was OK, but if I'd read the small print I'd never have let myself in for such a long show. Even though a lady got her norks out in Act II.

We just saw "As You Like It" at the Globe in May. Box seats on the side. Totally worthwhile to be able to sit down for a long play.

I love the Globe theater. Had to transport a British expat back to London's Burn Center. He worked for the king. They sent me by private jet, for a week they put me up at the Savoy, had a car rental and last but not least gave me tickets to Phantom. Not a bad gig. I've seen Phantom here in the states but it wasn't as good as the the one at the globe. Envious of you guys.

I used to sit next to a German guy at work who only saw his family once a month. He was quite a funny guy and normal in every way except that he used to go and see the Phantom of the opera every night

Judy - The Phantom opera is on at Her Majesty's theatre in central London while the Globe theatre is a recreation of Shakespear's original theatre and is situated by the river. It is open air on the inside and many tight folks like myself just stand in front of the stage to get that true 16th century feeling of hardship.

It was the oldest theater in London and this was back in the late 80's to 90.Ack my brain is to full of stuff. I thought it was the globe and Phantom had just come out. Where could it have been? Was a really cool theater.

Rudimentary Paste
I'm a happy Bill today because I took the GTS to work and I bribed my favourite tekki ( who rides a Triumph ) with a Snickers ( Marathon ) to hold a straight edge against the wheels while I lined up the steering with the knee pads.
After a bit of adjusting, tightening and test riding it's now perfect.
So perfect in fact I'm starting to think it was a bit pissed before it went to have a new fork fitted.

Don't forget Sherlock tonight on BBC 1 at 8.30 this evening.
You'll thank me.

Stunned
I can't believe that Channel 5 have just used the phrase " if you are having problems with your up hill gardening" in one of their programme intro's.
Was I the only one to get that in joke ?

Edit - I was so happy today my expression didn't change even when it rained on me and the Ventilato on the way home.

Is that the stage show from a long time ago with the two blokes acting as the puppets? If it is, I saw that - loved it.

I am a good person
On the 31st of July the group of dealerships that I work for ( The Beadles Group - Nissan, VW, Toyota, Skoda and Range Rover ) are having a cycle race that links up with our 11 sites in Kent.
It's a 74 mile ride and there should be 25 of us doing it, well apart from me because I'm driving the support vehicle.
I'm going to try and ignore the French camera crew way of supporting riders though.

Yep, I splashed out and bought a forcemaster kit! Works really well despite all my previous misconceptions about the kit. Now all I need is that ASBO orange paint...

I can't afford that at the moment as I have spent a small fortune on the house... redecoration outside (so far) - the front is done. New windows are due in four weeks time and I spent this afternoon removing all the pointing on the patio with a grinder. Repoint some of it tomorrow with some new fab resin pointing...
