AFAIK 'Muppet' has become a colloquial term for a tool/dickhead/idiot/fool.
I don't think motorists (cagers) need any more incentive to level abuse towards PTW riders.(Mr Sensible speaking).

However in the States, "Muppet", will always be a sweet lovable puppet such as Kermit.
