Oh boy. I guess you could tap up to the next size and figure out some new hardware.
Is it the setup with the little brass screw holding on the bezel, and the steel holding the headlight in those little guide rails? |

I just taped mine to M5 as one of the original M4 was ruined.
it's a 5 min job for a person who know what he is doing. |

Well, on the bright side, since its the simpler setup with just a screw, you should be able to get appropriate h/w easily. Beats buying a new headset I guess.

O man, I missed this...
Looking at your pic and I'm pretty sure I am seeing a euro Rally??? A simple insert coil job fixes these in a jiffy. I have done several, right on the scoot and 5min. each side... Don't go bigger!!! there is very little room between the hole and the front edge of the headset. |

Here... This is inserted.. The alloy is very thin(shallow) right where
the screw goes... And as you can see going to m6(the next size up) would not be to good with that front edge so thin too.. Stock size = M5x.8 ![]() ![]() |

so, i ran down to Pep Boys and picked up a kit. it was $32 and was the 6mm size. i had to drill just a hair out first tgen installed the inserts. they stuck out some on the inside so i pulled slightly then clipped off the excess.
too frickin easy, new 6mm thread screws and its held in place better than ever. amazing. thank you so much to the Prof. you saved me a boat load of small denomination, mixed serial number bills. now if we could just get some weather that is neither 39 degrees or hail filled rain. |

My not-so-elegant solution for my '74 Rally 200 Euro was to JB weld nuts inside.
No problems for 4 years now. |
