Was asked to repair a Vespa 2006 by my Nephew. Expected a high mileage scooter but when he brought it by, I found that it only had 264 miles on it. It had been in storage since 2011 and was only ridden when his sister went to Florida. What a waste. Pulled it apart and only found a few items bad on it, one of which was the carburetor. Of coarse the battery was bad but why the horn went bad I just don't understand. Anyway $400 had it back running. Thanks for letting me be a lurker on your site. I'll try to include pictures when I can figure out how.

Only the carb, battery and horn were bad. Ordered a new OEM carburetor but has not shown up as of today. If I could have found an accelerator I would not have even gotten the carburetor. The rubber on the diaphragm was completely deteriorated. I put some Thru The Roof sealer on it temporally. Idle and main needles were completely plugged up but was able to clean them out. I noticed that I forgot to reinstall the side molding on one side. I will have to correct that. Changed all fluids, checked the V-belt and tires and they were fine since the scooter was in storage the whole time. I think it was a shame that the owners didn't ride it more, just didn't start one day and they could not find anybody that could fix it or would try.
