Has anyone had the valve timing adjusted on their GT200? I can hear the ticking and am getting some very occasional stalling. The local mechanic diagnosed it, but doesn't want to do the job yet since he says it can be a 5-6 hr. job....dropping the motor, etc. Too expensive ntil the symptoms get worse. Anyone have experience with this? Advice? Thicker oil? 2000 miles on the clock, so far.

Stay with the recommended viscosity Jim.

Do you distinctly hear a single valve taping, or do you hear the clatter of all 4 valves?

What is Piaggio's service interval for checking valve lash on the GT200? Is it 3,750 miles? Check the schedule in your owners manual.

Is you scooter running normally, other than the stalling? Is it idling smooth, or can you hear (or feel) a skip in sync with the tapping? What about acceleration?
