GT125 - had a new tank fitted & the guage isn't working..

Could take it back but I'm guessing it can't be more than a plug unplugged, so maybe less bovver to do myself..

Any ideas where this plugs in? Is it the wire that seems to go to the top of the tank on underthe right hand bubble..

Was working before, so can't be much wrong... Anything else it could be?

Thanks

The new tank might have a faulty float meaning it always reads empty.

Yes, the wire originates from the sending unit, at the top of the gas tank. Actually, there are two wires. One is for the gauge, and the other is for the reserve lamp. They may have been left-off during the installation, or your float may be hung-up.

Its probably unplugged...yep, its under the right bubble...easily accessible. As you look through one of the frame holes you can see the top of the bugger...

I unplugged mine, and it had the same effect.

Thanks all...

I don't think it's the float, as even though the needle says 100% empty the light isn't on...

You are probably right, but does the float trigger the light? Or is it another mechanism? Even if it is the same float that operates both, presumably the guage runs off a resistor whilst the light is operated by a switch. If the resistor is faulty ...

I've had 'em go both ways. No guage but light, and no guage no light. both times its been the sender. it prolly just unplugged.
