Hi everyone;

I have a problem with my MP3! A weird squeaky noise is coming from the front of the bike when i lean left or right! Its like a door hinges that needs oiling!

I never had that problem before, it only started today! I sat on my bike and without starting the engine i leaned the bike slightly and immediately heard this squeaky noise!

I am wondering if that happened to any of you and if you know what might be the problem?

I rode it for 10miles and the noise is there! Do we need to oil any parts of the suspensions?

Any help is appreciated.

Many Thanks...

Sorry to hear that!

I'm not a mechanic, but for those that are mechanically inclined:

What year is your scooter, and how many miles are on it?

Is it still under warranty?

I don't know how many MP3 125 owners are on the forum...

Seems like no one had the same problem!..

I booked in for a check up tomoro at local dealer. Might also get it serviced while there.

I will also ask them to inspect the whole bike for any problems and let you guys know the outcome...

It's most likely the rotor for lack of better name, used to lock the front end. It's sliding between the pads as you lean it back and forth. It works just like a disk brake set up.

When I make sharp low speed turns to the left I hear a noise coming from the right front which I think is the rotor rubbing slightly on a brake pad. It has done this since it was new so I don't worry about it. It is not really a squeak, more like a low rubbing noise.

Thank you guys, thats a relieve!..

I took my bike back from the garage yesterday. They charged me an hour labour for just to clean the clutch ( there was a grinding noise coming from the back whenever i take off) and done nothing in the front!..

They said there was dust between suspension and they cleaned it!.. However, it is still making the noise.

And the noise only comes if i press down the front brakes and lean the bike left or right. It is quite loud but if you guys say nothing to worry about than im happy Never happened before or maybe i never reallised it was there...

Cant explain how relieving that is as i was scared something was going wrong!..

Thank you very much guys

mine (500 abs) does it as well after 3000m. It is not audible when the engine is on, I can only hear that faint "metal rubbing metal" sound if i lean the bike (trike) while the engine is off. Steering, leaning are not affected.

Still, i reckon some well placed lube would make that sound go away.... but i do not know what to lube....

I have an 2008 MP3 250 with just over 4000 miles. I just noticed this squeaky rubbing sound when I lean the bike to the left it feels resistance also like friction. Only noticed it just now at a stop and when Iím leaning the bike slowly. If I speed up my tilt it goes away. Will check if I feel it while riding.
