I happen to have insider information (I was there) that user #2, who calls himself 'hupp', took posession of a brand-new LX150 this morning at 10:37am. It's Daring Plum, with a black seat instead of the standard tan suede one.

Nice
Hey, GREAT choice.
Didn't know they came with a black seat. Kinda cool, even though I prefer the tan. Anybody know if the caramel/brown leather seat is available in the U.S.? I seem to recall seeing it somewhere in the LX accessories section at the Italian Vespa site. |

Yup, nice scooter! Congratulations.
Speaking of seat colors, a NYC Vespa dealer has a custom ET seat for sale that's primarily black with an awesome white and blue insert of "Vespa" cut diagonally across the top. The "Vespa" font and style is exactly modeled after the Vespa script (as in the Modern Vespa forum logo). The price tag is a little steep at $350, otherwise it would be mounted to my ET4 today. |

Cool
Quote: It was a condition of the purchase, and the dealer (Jen at Vespa San Francisco) happily swapped out the seat for him before he went to pick it up. |

OK, OK yes, here I am FINALLY posting. Well hey, I sort of figured I really couldn't post until I was a true Modern Vespa owner.
Sorry for the delay - I was out riding the new machine yesterday. I have to say I am very pleased. The LX150 is a very solid scooter and handles myself and a passenger with no problem. And I do Love the Daring Plum color with the black seat which, as Jess pointed out, was any easy swap at purchase from Vespa SF. A quick word about Vespa SF - Jen, the sales manager, is just awesome! She really made the whole experience fantastic. She is so charming, so knowledgable, so cool, so, well, Vespa! If you're thinking about getting a new Vespa, hell even if you're not, go see Jen at Vespa SF. Ok, I have to go and ride my new LX some more. Oh, and here are a couple pics of the new scoot: http://homepage.mac.com/hupp/PhotoAlbum12.html More posts later... +hupp |

Nice photos
Man, how did you ever got those Metropolitans up and down SF streets?
That Honda Elite is retro-badass in its own way. Very cool, man. You've got a nice little stable there. My LX150 is the first scooter I've owned--I used to borrow/steal my buddy's Honda Elite 80 on various occasions. My Vespa shares a stable with 9 bicycles. Their a little jealous. |

I have to say the Honda Metropolitan is a very cool little scooter. Just like a Honda it starts up and purrs almost silently every time. Being that it has a 50cc four stroke it is quiet and has quite a bit of torque at the low end. On the steep SF hills it does slow down considerably but it makes it. All and all it's a great scooter - specially for the beginner. First I got one for my girlfriend and after riding it I decided I had to get one too so we could ride together.
Sorry, I know this is Vespa site but I had to put a good plug in for these great little scoots. |

That's why I for one am content to remain a lurker. It's doubtful that I will join the ranks of Mod Vespa owners anytime soon, in spite of my passion for the marque. I refuse to squander money on the chinese made shite that everyone (including the ringleader admin) of that other scoot bbs is gaga about, so I will remain without a scooter for the time being. |

I saw that photo ^^^^ posted on the BBS back in early September. That's what made me decide on that color. Prior to that, I was going with black.
