Did an assessment of the damage from my off. Got away very lucky. UFP saved me a bunch of money and headaches. No broken tupperware or tabs except for the bits under the floor board. Pulled off the bracket and using a vice and a hammer straightened it up. It had a twist so I put my big crescent wrench on it and got most of it by banging the wrench. Still a little more squish than it used to have but usable. I would say it is 90 percent back. Doug suggested adding diamond plates and that would probably do it. Oh the forward screw had a slight bend to it.

Here are some pictures.
Broken Tupperware under the foot rest.
Shows the bend and the twist.
Another shot of the bend with my scraped up foot peg...the scrapes have nothing to do with the crash. :)
In the vice.
Straight after banging on it with a small sledge hammer.
Still had a twist so I put a big crescent wrench on it and banged it almost back to original.
Finished...almost like new.
Back on the scoot.

Not bad at all. Glad to hear you're back to 98-99%! Just remember, chicks dig scars. Or stories about scars... I think the actual scars kinda creep them out a little. Actually, you know what? Chicks are crazy, I have no idea what they dig. I suspect they don't either sometimes...

Chicks actually dig worms, at least when they're felling a bit peckish.

Hi sticky.

I had to do a repair to the tupperware:

You can see the crack to the left of the patch. I fibreglassed the back (which you can't see) then put a cover patch on the front and drilled thru the patch, the tupperware and the fibreglass, then pop-riveted the whole assembly together. The reason I pop-riveted it is that bugger-all sticks to the ABS.

Just thought it may help your repairs.

Gonzo

Glad you got it all straightened out, Sticky (Pun intended)

Good luck figuring out how to fix your broken plastic there. I've just recently had mine apart, and I really don't know what you'll be able to do...

Great idea Gonzo. Will have to yank it apart and see if I could do something similar.

Just bought two used diamond plate floor boards. Hope they help. Thanks for the link OAD.

Mine was a little "soggy" after my mishap and I finally tracked it down. Mine cracked the silver tupperware on the bottom. I discovered that it has tabs that added rigidity to the floorboard. Busted. But - there is a lip going inward and I drilled a hole and put a machine screw in there. Much better. I also busted the tab inside the fuse access there. Quite a bit of damage actually in busted tabs and whatnot. Not enough for me to lose sleep or worry about replacing tho...

Superb job, Sticky, I've linked the UFP maintenance FAQ to this thread. Many thanks. If you want a replacement screw just ask.

Some of the ideas posted here are potentially very useful and not specific to just the UFP, so I've added this thread to Speedskater's spreadsheet. Great stuff.

Thanks Jeff. And thanks for the offer of the screw. I have to find some for the rear holes of the floor boards I ordered so I will look for a replacement for the bent screw too. I'll pm you if I can't find one.
