Bitsa you've been busy. Today I locked my helmet to my bike as opposed to the "no pet carrier" option.

Today I buffed and polished my fender after doing the body work to get a VBB fender on a pk fork. It looks as good as it can look, I guess. It's never going to look "right", just hopefully not too "wrong". Then I spent about 5 hours dry-fitting the floor rails and trying to figure out how to bend the "tube style" legshield trim to actually match the curve of the profile.

Any one have advice?

...I started back on resurrecting my rust bucket that's been in my dad's back yard rusting (more) for a year or two. And posted on MV for the first time since then as well. Anybody miss me? Laughing emoticon

Broke in the new tools I bought last night and removed the rear shock, kickstand, tail light/license plate assembly, and all but one of the seemingly random screws on the battery side of the frame. Busted a drill bit trying to drill out these tiny screws on the horn to get it off. Trying to figure out how to get the remainder of this stuff off and considering options (aka hitting up friends with tools) on getting off my floor rails and legshield trim. Gotta get all this stuff off to get the body to the shop for new floorboards. This is the most progress the body has seen so far (everything else was engine stuff), and it's exciting. Engine awaits a rebore.

Took off the Simmonini and fitted the new SIP Road pipe.

Wow. What a difference. Noticeably better acceleration and mid range, no loss of top end. Much better on the hills with the improved torque. I did a plug chop at WOT and it was spot on. Running a 118 main jet, B7ES plug and fully synthetic Rock oil.

This is the pipe my scoot has been waiting for.

Now if I could just lose a couple of pounds.....

... Tracked down an electrical gremlin. The turn signal wire ar my cowl had vibrated loose inside. Removed the tank and reconnected. Gave it a little bit of a crimp for good measure.

Then I rode, rode, rode. Mid sixties to low seventies and sunny all day.

Started looking through boxes, getting things that I need out and ready for spring, and it hit me... just how much stuff...bits and pieces that I've gathered over the years... my parts lists in folder haven't been updated in some time, and that's now 1st on my list of things to do.. I have dupes of stuff because without proper "inventory" lists, I've bought multiples of stuff I didn't remember having (will no doubt come in handy though), but watching Horder's makes me feel a bit guilty... like in my own small way I'd fit in.
Also occurred to me just how much time and effort most of us put into scootering... It's a LOT! It's easy to forget what efforts people put in to it. Respect to all who do!

Oh, and while looking at duplicate parts with one eye, the other is always fixed on an ever growing "want list".... Always something else to be had.

Today I spent about 10 hours working on my project scooter. Looking forward to when I can drop the "project" and just call it my "scooter"

Anyways, here's what I did today...

Sealed the engine cases
Mounted the carb and air box
