B'Day for Robby! Hope it's a good one with good company!
I finished assembling my new fork for the colorful Allstate. I had 'borrowed' a Vespa VNB fork for it from a bike since sold that it was returned to. I like the wheels & brakes on a Super & picked up a complete Super fork. super cheap . Then I found it wasn't plug n play as I had hoped, wrong stops and maybe some offsets too (no research, stoopid!). So I decided to convert the original Allstate stem to use the Super lower end by welding shock mount tabs on the stem. Pretty much copied my '62 VNB for location. Still need to dress it up a bit, paint & install mud guard. Seems to work so far, I'll see how it rides soon. ![]() The welding is solid, but looks a bit dodgy as I did it in short bursts to avoid overheating the stem. ⚠️ Last edited by V oodoo on UTC; edited 1 time

Rode around in the sun. Bike was out of commission because there was something being munched behind the flywheel. Pulled the flywheel and found a munched hex nut. All 4 case studs had their nuts. Stator has some dings but the bike is running well. Glad it wasn't something more serious. Damn Gremlins, i tell ya. Someone send me a gremlin bell.

Anyway today (as mentioned elsewhere)?I did not stall or flood my bike once I finally got it set and I can ride like I did any other bike I have owned. Good day for sure |

Woke up around 9 a.m. Took the scoot out... Messenger style... Ripping down the alley ways... Made a bank deposit for the jewelry store... Headed to my buddys to work on my wood carving... About another month and he will have a pretty badass statue of an abstract female figure in his backyard... Going to paint it with textured "stone" spraypaint when I am finished... Came back home... Took off my fuel line from the carb... Let it drain in a empty gas can to see if the flow was continuous... Checked out ok... Not sure why I am stalling. Carb was just rebuilt before the engine rebuild and porting work. New fuel tap too. CDI is a year old. Gick and I are in the process of addressing the issue. No fears!

Put the 177 back in, ready to rebuild the 200... sarted up easily and seemed to run fine. So I took it out a short distance down the road and wasn't running as well as i remembered from last time. Stopped, had a think and recalled that I had swapped a main jet into the 200 but couldn't think what I put back in. So turned around and went back... opened it up to check... guess what I had in there?
NO JET STACK AT ALL!!! I was surprised to say the least! Amazing that it ran at all. |

Met mighty_triceratops this morning and he was kind enough to give me some parts to rebuild my carb. Disassembly completed and hopefully I can finish this afternoon.

Today I...
- Buttoned up my motor and confirmed that the gear-skipping problem was reduced by reducing the play in the gear stack. Hurray!!! - Replaced my flasher unit. It was failing. - Replaced the open-cell foam filter on my Vortex carb. It was BEAT. |
