Fighting with my rally tank, trying to get a BGM faster flow w/ LED indicator screwed in. The rally fuel tap tool is a pain in the ass.

Today I learned what it is like to lock up my rear break on fresh smooth pavement. Oh and some a** hat pulled out in front of me and I had zero time to react and nearly kissed his passenger side door. Besides those two incidents it was beautiful out and the primavera did well on the long ride in the county.

That's bad ass Jack! Run it w/ your stock pipe 1st... I bet you'll be stoked.. do that for a while, and IF you get bored put the micron on.. and IF you get bored again, go to work on the cylinder!

Meg, that's scary.. glad you stayed upright! Not the best feeling is it!

Oct. That's gonna look sweet.. but I gotta be honest.. I saw the 1st pick of the sealer and got REALLY excited.. I thought you went with a satin blue! Gloss will be sweet though.. nice light... too bad about the $$ but that's the price we pay some times... Can't wait to see it all together..

Jackson (and Bitza) speaking of your T5.. I saw this today at the Concourse at the rally.. along with quite a few Excellent bikes.. Bar had two that were Top Notch!... including a US Super that's perfect.. This bike could convince Super haters that they are cool bikes... front brake hooked to rear brake light with the proper stuff.. I thought that was bitchin'! Then there was Nyles bad ass P... looks so bitchin in person... I Love good custom work, and he's definitley a purveyor of such work!
The 98 was killer too.. but this Black T5 was the best one I've ever seen in person.., Über clean and BLACK... it's my idea of a T5!

Here a few from the concourse..

Oh... so my ride wasn't completley w/o incident... I was on the way back to the hotel to leave for home, racing along w/ Jimmy, Berto and a couple really cool Germans on some Hot Lambrettas... I "gave it the beans" (jackson! ) to let it rip.. it started to take off and then Boom! Totaly died... I thought for sure I'd had some kind of catastropic meltdown.. so I pulled the clutch REAL Quick and pulled to the side, heart sinking, fearing the worst.... turns out my plug cap had simply popped off my plug! Whew emoticon
Put it back on and started again.. 100 yards later same thong... It looks like the little clip that keeps pressure on the post of the plug has squished against the wall of the cap and it wont' hold on to the plug... so we wedged a piece of zip tie (Zip Ties FTW) and that fixed it to get home.. THEN.. lol, I went to out my cowl on, and I pulled the spring clip to secure it, and yanked the whole lever out! ... so I limped it back with my right leg stretch out behind me holding the cowl on..

Got home, pulled the seat, pulled the tank (fuel line quick release FTW!), and managed to find the spring way up in the front of the tunnel with a telescopic magnet... (the nut had just vibrated off, must have been on the last thread) grabbed a new washer and nut and put it all back to new.. put that that stuff back together, then put a new plug cap on... I didn't have another non resistor type, so I used a new resistor cap, screwed a resistor on my plug (I like this plug ), used a 1/4 can of lectra-motive on the motor, wiped it down and I'm back to All Good! .... Having just rode a good, hard hundred miles or so, and with excellent running fresh in my mind, I'm going to pay close attention and see if the resistor cap and plug make any difference.. I suspect they won't but I'll soon find out..

Overall a great time at AV... hundreds and hudreds of bikes.. most Moderns, but a very good showing of NSM's... 8)

Nice pics Mr Vader, got any more?

Today I noticed that the MV sign up on top has changed again and for a minute there I thought it was Halloween or something.

Also I installed a T5 glovebox tray on my Rally and it not only looks nice, but it also helps hide some minor body damage. We'll see how practical it turns out to be.

That kit looks the business Jackson! Wonder how it will compare to the stock one? Nice investment.

You just convinced me to locktite my skewers! My tank is out anyway, so no work involved. Glad it didn't happen going down the road. Spark plug clip failure kind of saved you, if you think about it!

I got lucky once with my '67 Dart. Brake line blew in a parking lot - you'd think it would have gone in a panic situation, not moving it into my friend's shop to put it on a lift to do exhaust work (second lucky break!). Think about it: 1967. 4 wheel manual 9" drum brakes. Single circuit system (when one goes out, they all go out). Car had a working e-brake, but still...

Ill consider it bitsa. Should be handy enough to set up. Might try it with the t5 pipe and see how it pulls. It can make more sense than an expansion in the real world of hills and headwinds. But then I love the scream of a chamber

Nice pics Vader,

Loving that Grimstead Rally!
Know a jackass who has a Eddy Grimstead Hurricane.
Not nearly as cool as that Rally! 8)

Today I went on a canoe/fishing trip with my pops. Pops caught a smallmouth and bluegill. I had a smallmouth a foot from the boat, then the fucker got away! Gary Yamamoto bait kicks ass.

Thats the dude that MarcusDarling bought his T5 from a couple years ago. Blue with 80's stripes on it.
