Today I rode my Super with the re-built motor in it.
I was riding and laughing because it's so freakin good! An amazing transformation. Last week I had VBC 3-port case, a little matching to a stock Pinasco 177, Worb5 longstroke crank, 24/24 and Sito+. For ages now I've had bad vibration that kicks in around 3/4 max revs. Ruled out almost everything by replacing almost everything but the vibration stayed. Then I came across a new LML case on ebay from Scooter-Center fairly cheap.... Over the weekend I swapped out all my stuff from the old case and into the new, matched the ports and added a MMW-modified Malossi head. I broke a ring (again) so I've got to run it in, but from first impressions I'm incredibly happy with it. Just want to rev it's head off! |

Received a brand new Piaggio horncast badge from member brown_beret7. He kindly picked one up for me from the last Vespa fayre he attended, along with the generosity of AKP last month and brown_beret7 this month, just shows Modern Vespa members are the most caring and most friendly on any forum!
cheers Aaron and Paul, you have made Dexter what it is today! |

It isn't something I considered originally, but something considering the engine is cheap'ish I'm looking at for the future. ⚠️ Last edited by AKP on UTC; edited 1 time

So parts wise im getting there slowly, immediate future is to get it up and running and MOT'd (and then registered) so I can work on it and actually test drive it through summer. |

thestigjjj wrote: Sounds cool 8) Have you thought of a new colour for it ? For the moment I'm going to get it mechanically sound, and then run it through the summer months with the original yellow/orange paint (i think its Giallo Arancio) and then strip it in winter for a proper respray. Unless I am convinced otherwise I'll be staying with yellow paint with black stripe combo. |

I got a few things done today, but mostly all dry fitting & planning. None of this is mounted permanently yet(if ever). Foglites are gone til next winter.

Weather is crap outside so no chance on working on the actual bike, but whilst indoors I decided to assemble my new matte black split rims from SIP.
Tyres fitted are Michelin S1's. Fitting was reasonably straight forward, tyre grease and vice grips are ESSENTIAL for doing this, I'm not sure whether it was because of the rigidity of the walls on the S1's or what, but the vice grips were very useful. ![]() |
