Modern Vespa

There's vinyl glued to the top. I couldn't get it to fit nice around the sides so I gave up and just painted the foam.

Had my first ride to work on the Primi.

Upped the mixture screw to get idle a bit less lean, and I think I need to up the main - it doesn't 4 stroke when I venture to WOT so I am not quite as safe as I'd like for break in. It's an 82 main, next available in my stash is 85 so I'll give that a try.

LOVE the DRT short 4th, I would go so far as to say it's as big of an improvement as a cylinder kit as far as making one of these streetable on 45+MPH hilly roads - maybe more so!

Went for a nice ride out to the beach with Jimmy and another friend on their Lambretti. 'twas fun!

Thanks B.. no licking it's actually holding up very well.. it's a metallic, foil sticker, so it's not burning... the very top corner is just starting to peel up, but if/when it does, I'm going to get another one, and take the adhesive off the back and apply some heat resistant hi-temp adhesive and do it again.. the foil decal seems like it'll endure... just like that artwork will endure.

that cables fine.... just trim back the stray buggers and away you go.

Arrives back in Melbourne almost a week ago and spent the last week working and running around after kids. Finally had some time to look at the scoot, and got the engine back on. Tomorrow I'll head into Port Melbourne and say hello to Ginch some "P" owners, and then getting the Rally moving, re-connecting all the bits and bobs, checking everything is set up ok, and, all being well and not pissing down with rain, having a ride finally. Very bloody happy at that thought 8)

finished stripping the bastard n straightened the leggy round the indicators [with a claw hammer n me foot] ... now i just need to glass the indicator holes n give the frame a bloody good clean .. looks like i was dirt trackin on it .... on a plus side when i slashed me hand open i managed to cut the cable tie ....
all the cable inners where factory original apart from the rear brake n speedo which i changed ... the gear cable still had the clip holding them together

question are spot weld drill bits different to other hss bits .... i know the tip is ground so that it has a centre point n 2 wings but apart from that are the different ... i can grind hss bits to that shape

New speedo cable
New gaskets
10 mm cht ring (per Vader's suggestion)

Hopefully everything is square now...

Since none of you guys could make it for a breakfast ride, I had to settle for second best and ride with my other riding buddies.

take it out to Ross Lake in Bonsal and snap a few... 1st fish I ever caught was on that little lake. I ate campfire grilled rattlesnake there too! Tasted like.. well you know!
