id have loved to paint mine but no proper shed n its bloody cold out there .......... where ya paint yours??

Took a ride ..it was 45 deg.today here in Mass. Very very weird weather for January . Last year there was 5 ft. of snow on the lawn! Lots of two wheelers out today. Never rode this late in the year.

in the poxy wooden garden shed. but its all I had to work with so I just got on with it. cant afford a flash paint job so got a few cans of matt red. got a black trim and blacked out the indicators except for a little square for the light to shine through. it looks quite good but is very obviously a rattle job. but its an everyday runner so fuck it. have a spare can of the paint to cover the inevitable scrapes you get when you run a bike everyday and all weather.

ohh yesterday i bought a disc headset bottom for the project ......... bring on the sun ..... think i have almost all the main bits

.. introduced the scooters to my Sister In Law visiting from New Mexico. She has ridden motorcycles for a long time and was quite taken with the P200. Beautiful day and nice to have both of the scoots out at the same time..

Today I posted this about something I did on Sunday.

I "strapped" my iPhone to the floorboard of my Vespa. Using a free ap called Top Speed, I was able to check the accuracy of my speedometer against GPS. I found my speedometer is accurate up until about 50mph after that is progressively slower and tops out at just under 55mph even though I am going considerably faster.

I was surprised to learn that GPS indicates my top speed is 65mph. Not bad.

today I banged out dents and repainted a panel. my bike lasted less two days of use before someone knocked it over while I was in work

Could have been worse. I saw a Craigslist post where a guy was out riding his Rally and had both cowls stolen. They looked really nice too..

Fed the chickens, took down all the Christmas decorations, watching Cbeebies (with the man-cub), shower then work at 4pm-2am

put the new lock in the seat wit new barrel ..... now it locks and all the same key for toolbox ... ignition n seat

I never understood why there were different keys. Can someone explain why this is? Except to piss you off when you eventually loose one.

Its more often when you stick on an after market seat that comes with a lock already on it or change your barrel

yep ive got a corsa seat on the bastard n when i got the scoot the key was missing ..... so i bought 3 barrels to swap em out n when i pulled the seat lock to bit tada it was a different barrel ............. joshzingzing confirmed that a standard lock fitted [cheerz for the info] so i swapped it all n now all me locks take one key ....... havnt had one key for all for ages

fitted my Tucano Urbano Termoscud. Mine is in a faux snakeskin finish. It's been in my shed unused for months so i decided to fit it and use it for a while until spring comes.

also took a ride down to the River Humber on my ET4. I finally got to try out my new antenna properly in the role it was fitted for. I have 1.2m VHF antenna mounted on the rear for VHF Marine reception and it worked well

Took a few photo's of the ships, freezed my nuts off but had a blast riding the local country roads down to the riverside.

gave a the bastard a good wash ... mostly underneath ... then sprayed it with acf50 ..... looked in the shed at the bitza n sighed

im working on blacking all the bits out too .... ordered some new grips n a proper t5 link cover .......... when it warms up ill be painting the hubs n forks too

when the lump crapped on me i had to have new levers fitted as the clutch one had worn so bad round the cable it was ready to go ..... they put me some standard black ones on

been thinking about mirrors too its gettin hairy with a few cars i see every morning on the way to work ..... seen these but they look too short to fit from below the headset

Couldn't you drill through the side of the glove box and fit one of those to that? Straight up and down would make for a cool looking leggy. 8)

tis a shame really as its got a bloody hole on the left side of the glovebox ..... n i dont care about cyclists ........... not having 2 bloody leggy mirrors .. id look like a mod ............. might make a card template n see if i can work summat out

I aint done much today so far, my kiddies have been poorly since sunday, Ok today though, so back to school. I was bad yesterday and the wife is bad today.
Definatley my wifes fault, she was telling one of the Mom's in the playground that none of us had been ill for a while. F-in typical!

Might give the bike a clean today, gotta get the little one asleep and the wife will be dosing on the settee, sounds like perfect opportunity, and although not big jobs, got a new tax disc holder to put on. Keeping the black theme.

cleaned out the jets in the bastard as it was bogging .... n after going through the conections of the rear brake light to see why it was flashing on n off i accidently wiggled the front brake lever to see the light flicker .... bloody vespas

i spent about an hour scouring SIP for bits for my PK fork. Going off of the tiny diagrams, ordering every little part (minus what they didn't have) only to find out that they have a ridiculous order minimum. So I ended up buying things that I could have bought locally, for even more money just to hit the minimum order amount.

those guys bum me out. I'm still missing a PK/T5 brake cam and another PK-specific part, if anyone knows a good place to get non-us market parts.

Took the P200e out for a spin around the complex, since it won't pass emissions with the worn out top end in it. Still has PLENTY of grunt, but it's .4 percent over CO2, so it's no plate for me. Fired up right on the 2nd kick after sitting for weeks, not one drip. Nothing worse than having a good runner sitting due to bullshit emissions laws. Hopefully in a month I'll have the cash to start hunting down a garage to pull it apart and get it fixed proper

rode home on the bastard feeling quite smug .... for once it was running sweet n i was filtering like a beast
