Hi everyone,
I just wanted to know if anyone knows what the normal fuel consumption should be for an ET2 50cc. I ride mine like I stole it most of the time and am getting 62mpg (UK gallon - 4.5 litres), 4.3 l/100km or 23 km/l. Is this normal? I've tried to search for the info on the net but have found so many conflicting figures that I haven't got a clue!

I thought it was around 85mpg or so, but if you ride like you stole it, 62mpg sounds fine by me.

The first few tanks (during the break in period) returned right around 80 mpg (2.95 L/100km) lighter on the throttle in town cruising. The last few since passing the break in point have been a few mpg less - 72-76mpg or so ( at most 3.2L per 100km ) due to more aggressive use of the throttle, though I'm still just commuting with it - not actually riding it hard.

Typical load on the scooter is 200-210lbs or so between myself and the laptop/lock/tools.

62 seems a bit low, though it does seem to be related to riding style - must be really having fun to burn that much fuel.

I get about 60-62 with my ET4 150. a 50 SHOULD get much better, like I'm thinking 85.

hey persh. im getting between 4 & 4.5L per 100kms. i tend to ride it pretty hard and it has a giennelli exhast and malossi variator fitted too.
& when i fit the 70cc kit i expect the fuel consumption to be a little worse
oh & ive found i get more km's using 98octane fuel compared to 92 unleaded

Be scaning the horizon for the NEXT petrol station WHILE you're filling up!

It's not quite that bad but you'll want to enjoy what that kitting can do so it reduces the mileage (kilometerage?) and the fuel tank's capacity is not so large.

Can someone tell me what the top speed is on the ET 2 50cc?

Also, anyone know the top speed with the 70cc kit?

I'm not sure why you would expect that. The 2-stroke 50s such as the ET2 are notoriously somewhat thirsty for their displacement. That comparison might be true for the LX50 vs. LX150, if the 50 were ridden with a light hand on the throttle. Most folks tend to ride 50s at or near WOT most of the time though.

Yes not remotely 85 mpg. That is more an LX50 mark. I regularly take mine up to 38 mph or so and with a passenger, and I average 53 mpg. Never hit 60 mpg on mine, and I DO service it regularly and treat it nice. The ET2 is a blast to ride around the city but do not look at it like a moped in terms of fuel economy.

If anyone has suggestions to help with this...

My Typhoon, which has the same engine as an ET-2, but has the 17.5 Deloroto carb....got around 70mpg US stock.... and top speed of 41mph
Kitted with an 70cc Polini Corsa, same carb, lighter rollers, heavier springs, goes around 55mph, and around 45mpg.....and a lot more acceleration....
Got the Laser Pro-X exhaust, but will not fit on the ET-2 I heard....
If you are worried about gas miliage, leave it stock, just derestrict it....maybe a pipe....
