Morphous loses automatically in my book for impersonating a rejected concept drawing from 1981 for a speeder bike in Return of the Jedi. To each their own, but I draw the line HERE...

Loses in the magazine too, for much the same reason. well, actually for being somewhat conflicted. Long and low and not so nible, but not so comfortable either, because of a combination of rear ride quality and seating position. Also not so practical -- none of its voluminous space is really that usefful because it's devided into tiny compartments. A vespa with a nice top box is better.

The pics in test do show, however, that it wouldn't be that difficult at all to fit the GTS with 13" wheels... combine with a bored out Quasar, say 300-325cc, and you have some serious vespa action...

I do have to admite that I sat on one at a dealer. It was a comfortable seat. But the windshield was a joke at an inch high.

No matter what one thinks about the design, I think a tip of the hat is in order just for the fact that they are trying new stuff...no matter how goofy it looks.

I remember a guy who ran the Cannonball, I think his name was Stan. He rode a Morphous with the number 62 (?) in BIG white numbers on the sides of the scooter (his age). High windshield by Gustafsson, he did something to the seat, extra gas on back, the scooter looked good. He stayed at the same motel where we were staying.

We had a cool discussion about the Morphous here earlier -- of course it's too far out for a lot of people, and perhaps Yamaha just didn't go quite far enough for people to "get the joke."

I think it's a refreshing, campy rad ride. I could make it work.

The top photo says it all for me. I cannot stand the cruiser riding position, with feet thrown forward and sitting on one's tailbone. I love sitting upright in comfort on the Vespa. The rest is just gravy for me.
A colleague has a Morphous and i look at it daily and wonder what on Earth possessed him. As you might imagine he is like oil and i am like water, or is it the other way around?

I can't over how low and long that Morphus is. I don't think I've ever actually seen on of those. Maybe they aren't available in Canada yet. I think the more models there are available to riders the better it is for the market. On the other hand I'm more than happy with my GTS.

There are quite a few of the maxi-scoots that use this seating position... it's just more immediately obvious on the Morphous.

For smaller Asian and European (ie Italian) body profiles, the bikes fixed seating position doesn't necessarily throw the riders knees up high... and the seating positon can work. NOT so for taller guys.

In the end, this tailbone seating position is the reason I sold my Majesty. My chiropractor, orthopedist, massage therapist and physcial therapist were sad to see it go.

The Morphous is kind of like a log flume without the water or the handling.
