Forgive me if this is covered elsewhere....I couldn't find it, and my multi-meter needs batteries! There are 3 plugged terminations under the left-hand "knee-pad" on the GTS-250. A small, a medium, and a large one. I would like to take some power off of one of them for my GPS/scooter cam. Question is : which one to use? Please someone if you know........
Thanks.

I can't help you at this moment Matt, as I'm heading out the door for an appointment. However, the color coding is the same between the GT and GTS. Look up one of the earlier posts on the GT, and it will apply to your GTS. There is power available at two of those connectors, but one has a larger gauge power wire and is the preferred connection. If you don't have resolution by the time I get back tonight, I'll identify the connections for you.

See my posting "Turn Signals Revisited" in Project Reports.
It will give you the info you want.
The red wire/black tracer to the 2 pin plug is the hot wire, it is live and not ignition switched as it is part of the alarm circuit.

is the wiring to the plug in question heavy enough to wire in a power outlet to charge a mobile phone for example???

Need more info, Matt?

As stated above, the red wire/black tracer (says red with a blue tracer on my diagram) appearing at the 2 pin plug is +12v. The same +12v (non-switched) wire, with the same color code, reappears at the large plug. From memory, the large plug wire is a larger gauge wire (you'll need to verify that). The black wire at the large plug is ground. There's also an ignition switched +12v available from the white wire at the large plug.
The non-switched +12v also provides power to the instrument cluster, whereas the ignition switched +12v only runs to the large plug (alarm connector). Both the switched and non-switched +12v wires are separately fused for 7.5a each.

I installed my power point in the left access panel, first I grounded the outlet to the frame inside.

I then utilized the red w/black tracer from the 4 pin plug for the "hot", I simply soldered the lead to that line.

I ran my GPS power cable (small end) up the front, behind the horncast, and out through the end near the brake-lever making certain I had enough slack to turn lock-to-lock, and zip-tied the excess power cord together, and buttoned it all up!

Works great....no more batteries, and only 1 wire touched, and only 1 small hole drilled into the "roof" of the glovebox, to mount the outlet bracket to.

sorry about the pictures...I'm doing this on a MAC, and I'm still re-learning from PC!

I don't know how they got "solarized", in the process of smalling them down...but I think they look like schtuff....

I'm in technology sales by day, and it's all PC. Now, we have a new iMAC at home, I'm all thumbs again!

Is it possible you inadvertently downsized the number of color bits when you altered your images, Matt?

Anything's possible at this point!

Well, at least I have an artisitic side. too bad it's on technical type pictures! Thanks for the help to everyone. I'm pleased with the outcome of the little "mod"ification.

The pictures look to be posterized, whereby the number of colors is reduced to a very small set. I notice they're also in GIF format, which is good for graphics but not as good for photographs. JPG would be a better choice.

What program are you using to resize the photos?

But they look fantastic!

They may not be very useful, I dunno, but they look great!

iPhoto is great for what it is, but it's not good at saving photos with all the excess junk stripped out. PhotoShop's Save For Web... feature is the gold standard here, but try this freeware application:

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19042

It will resize photos (max width should be 600 pixels wide for use here) and seems to do a good job not putting extra junk in the file.
