My powerbook G4 isn't recognizing my RAM anymore! How do I know if my memory is fried? I reseated it but when I restarted the computer, it said I had a whopping 128mb. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? Replace the ram, if it works the old one is fried, if the new one doesn't show up, that slot could be fried. |

You can ask over in the Mac forums at www.ehmac.ca
There's always someone that can answer that kind of problem. I have four G4 Mac's and haven't had that problem yet. Dave |

That would stink to buy new RAM just for the slot to be fried. How would a fried slot happen? Any way to check the slot?
Man, I was wondering where my computers performance went.... |

Man, I was wondering where my computers performance went.... Then you might have a problem or the dealer has a lot of bad RAM. Which brand of RAM is it? I use the Kingston brand for my G4 iBook. Don't know the brand off hand. Came with the MAC back in 2003, so I can't exchange it. Guess I have very few options here...

Apple is really good about standing behind their products. You can also take it to your nearest mac stores genius bar and they can help you. Good luck
